My sorcerer is bad for AOE ....

I mean if compared to my templar. Templar just throw blazing spear, wall of element and thn finishes the mob with puncturing sweep. On top she may throw other aoe like solar barrage or restoring light.

My sorcerer also use wall of element , and then she has boundless storm and the aoe from her volatile familliar.

I have been trying to use ligtheming splash without being really impress.

Her last aoe is the force pulse morph which hit up to 3 targets.

But whatever i do she does not clear public dungeons or group delves as fast as my templar do.


Note that since pets are eating 2x2 slots i don t much choices, and on top there are skill that are almost compulsory (boundless storm, criticial surge).


So if you have any idea on a good combo to clear large group of weak or semiweak monster they will be welcome.

Ps : i have not tried yet daedric mines.

I find that using Crystal blast instead of frags is much better for aoe and only for pve you can treat it as your main spammable too.

This will change with the pts changes though, only single target spammable. Lightning splash could use utility and damage buffs.

If its just for aoe dmg in places such as public dungeons and the like, you can simply plop down your aoe dots, then heavy atk with a lightning staff. Alternatively, you can replace force pulse with pulsar (morphed of impulse), which is essentially a radial, aoe spammable.

I agree sorcs aoe isn't that good, esp lightning splash isn't really worth slotting now. You cd slot mystic orb on top of woe and vf pulse but agree with the above, you really need a shock staff to heavy attack on. dual fire if ofc theoretically better for stdpsbut the time you save on bosses will be outweighed by inability to clear trash packs efficiently. The other thi g you might consider is aoe helm {grothdar} and maybe overwhelming surge set. I find it's almost as good as MS for dps but the extra dps on trash packs plus mag return is brilliant. For full on public dungeon farming cheeseness I like to add in thunderbug weps / jewels. By that point you can just run through pulling everything and watch it melt.

Magsorc is ok for AOE as far as you made your build around aoe dmg.

Problem is you will lose a lot of single target DPS.

You don't focus on mobs. Ignore them, let them pile up on a boss and place your AoEs on that boss. The mobs should die as collateral damage while you focus the boss.
