Farming Thrassian Stranglers (7+ hours and still nothing)

Hi there,

So it's been over 7+ hours of farming for Eyevea – Sticky Integument Leather – Psijic Portal in Artaeum or Summerset
Naturally I tried both Summerset and Arteum...I chose Summerset as Arteum is too small and overcrowded at the moment with fisherman who also take portals.

The drop rate on this piece is bonkers...I've seen videos with people getting it on the 2nd portal...where as I have opened over 20+ portals to no avail. This is the worst farming mechanic that you've thought of besides Psijic Time Rifts, Zos. (We don't not enjoy it).

I don't think I can be bothered any more...The mythical set will be nerfed next patch anyway...so what's the point right?

Farmed with Map Pins, Harvest Maps and a farming route for enchantment/portal nodes (Can't optimize any further).

However I do agree if you are in the middle of farming it, might as well stop. gg

Also part of me thinks that zos raised the difficulty of getting leads I farmed them pretty easy at the start, felt like 1-3 tries for x lead and I had it. Now it feels like it is much harder..

Could just be paranoid. lol

I also got it on my second portal. My farming partner got it on the third or fourth. I feel like there is more than basic RNG going on when it comes to leads.

Almost no point in farming this now. It just got nerfed to the ground in PTS.

I endured the rng and got the Stranglers the first week....

It has been a fun item for certain content, like when soloing normal group and public dungeons. But if the nerf now on PTS goes live, it will be entirely pointless.

I got mine second try, what I did was go the sunhold wayshrine and harvested nodes on the north side of the valley then came back down the south side of the valley back to the wayshrine. Both nodes popped right just south west of the wayshrine. You have to farm the nodes to get portals to spawn. I saw this one a website and got mine at the same spot they did.

3 weeks maybe of at least 2 hrs a day trying to get the leather lead in both Summerset and Artaeum and nothing! ☹

I only need it to complete the codex entry given it's getting nerfed anyway.

The first 2 times I got that lead within days or even on the same day as looking for it.

For anyone else looking for this, make sure you don’t already have it. It will not show up in Summerset or Artaeum leads, since it is only Scryable in Eyevea.

Seriously...thankyou!! I had been portal running for 3 days, and didn't even know that I already had the lead and haven't been able to work out how to see what leads you have. Got thrassians in 5min after reading your comment.
