One quick lore question: Why can Fennorian survive sunlight?

Thank you!

Same question can be applied to every single vampire not of the Noxiphilic Sanguivoria bloodline. Honestly, they shouldn't be in the sunlight at all, but since ZOS wrote the story to be done in both night and day without having the players wait for several hours you see them roaming around unharmed.

The lore says they should be hiding in the shadows till Magnus sets over the horizon, but because ESO is an MMO, and it has to be convenient, that isn't the case.

I agree that this is an MMO, but seeing several vampires during sunlight seems to be a little bit strange.

It is, and in fact the code for having NPCs spawn at night is actually in the game! Werewolves and Blood fiends can spawn in Reaper's March, The Rift, and Bangkorai on certain days during the night time. Why ZOS doesn't use this system more often we'll never know.

Imagine doing a quest and then suddenly have to wait several hours to continue lol. Also nights are unbelievably short compared to days.
That one khajiit obsessed with werewolf behemoth and vampire lord. Lady Thorn is bae, dont @ me.
    Werewolf behemoth=vampire lord>blood scion>werewolf>vampire.

    Tamriel isn't round either.
If it were, we would always have zones that are in darkness, simultaneously with zones in daylight.

Tamriel is a continent. The world is Nirn. Tamriel isn’t the whole world, there’s Akavir and many other places we probably never will get to see since there’s so much to do in Tamriel.

If you ACTUALLY look in to vamp bloodlines in tes lore only one is weak to sun in terms of catching fire. That's the ones in morrowind. Others grow weaker or are unaffected by it in short to medium bursts.

I guess I imagined taking sunlight damage in Oblivion then. Let's, um, just agree to forget about what happened when I left the Imperial Sewers after spending a week without feeding, okay?

Sure, not all vampires burn in sunlight, but the overabundance of immune vamps has more to do with MMO gameplay and the inability to [Sleep X Hours] than anything else.

I think it depends on the bloodline. Some are, some aren't, some are in the middle. Morrowind and Oblivion vampires are directly hurt by the sun, Skyrim and ESO ones aren't. Although there is a vampire WB in Reaper's March who can drop a shield that implies it was made specifically to block sunlight.

@fetito666 "It is possible that the merging of Coldharbour with Tamriel has had an effect on the sun, allowing vampires to move around unharmed; despite this they still only come out at night. Another theory, proposed by the author of Noxiphilic Sanguivoria, a book about this variant of the disease, the reason why these vampires are not harmed by daylight is because of a deal with Hircine. Instead of a weakness during the day, they are strengthened by the night. However, the author describes as just a wild theory."

Agree. Also "fictional" doesn't mean "illogical". Better Dragonbreak-meets-retcon explanation than no explanation at all
