Under these sun and sky I greet you warmly, muthsera! The lore of the universe we all like so much provides many religious options to choose from. What in-game religion do you or your characters prefer to follow? Or is it Atheism? Whatever option you choose, if you haven't decided it yet, feel free to turn to another of my guides - the Guide to Religions of Tamriel I've written as a part of my contribution to the community to help those who need it to refresh their knowledge and to ask themselves new questions. Easy navigation through each section there will give you brief general information on everything you should know about a specific religion with all the links to the sources and lore.

Now let's see what in-game laity is the most populated among the players!

    Tribunal Temple
So, I'll start it then :). In my version of the Third Elder Scroll I was not just the Nerevarine, but also the Archcanon of Vivec. The lore of the Clockwork City's Tribunal Apostolic Temple was not yet developed by that time, but nonetheless, I choose the Canonic Temple to follow. The reason is simple: whatever villains the Tribunes are, they were the ones who made the overall life of the House Dunmer better than that of the Ashlanders who denied them, they must stay powerful because they are the only characters who will keep the Tools of Kagrenac and build the Great Ghost Fence.

Without the Tribunes Dagoth Ur will still wake up in 300 years, in 2E 882 - he will have the Heart of Lorkhan, the Tools, Numidium, he also will be able to finish the construction of Akulakhan and will immediately wreak unstoppable havoc all over Tamriel. Lore-wise the Tribunes are the only characters who understand the scales of the threat, they are the only force capable to organize resistance and contain Dagoth Ur until the Nerevarine comes. They are the only people who know how to defeat Dagoth Ur and the only people to provide tools to do it - without them there will be nobody left to guide the Nerevarine even if the hero comes. So, this is why I vote for the Tribunal Canonic Temple :).

    This is a fun topic.

My main is an Orc, but he was born and raised in Skyrim. He was born in a stronghold, but it fell soon after he was born and he ended up getting adopted by a childless Nord couple in Riverwood. As such, he pretty well adopted the same religion of his parents. He hasn't really been around Orcs, so he doesn't really know much about the Code or Malacath or anything.

I don't think he's very devout, but he still raises a mug for Kyne.

As for some of the other characters I want to make? I haven't completely figured them out yet. I know my next character is going to be a Skaal, so he'll worship the All-Maker. At least to a point - he's a bit more of a free spirit and eventually becomes a werewolf and follows Hircine.

I can't really answer without a very large posting. All my characters have different beliefs. My main is a Jone and Jode follower and Azurah, Alkosh, Khenarthi and Mara. She also has a period when she doesn't have her soul that she follows Sithis until she regains herself.

Missing a few here such as daedra worship, like Orcs following malacath, ashland/old dunmer following the teachings of azura, mephala, and boethiah. With Khajiit following Azura, or as they dub her Azurah. Argonian with their worship of Sithis, and the hatchlings born under the shadow.

Since Oblivion, I always liked the Nine Divines and was fascinated with the Knights of the Nine DLC because, as a Christian, I saw many aspects of my religion into theirs (only in many different faces).

I mostly associate with Akatosh and Stendarr, they are my favorite.

Nope, nothing is missing there :). You've actually spoken of Riddle'Thar and the Clutch of Nisswo when you've spoken of the Khajiit and the Argonians, Azurah and Sithis respectively. Orcs following Malacath is the first option on the list. And regarding Daedric Cults (including the Cult of the Three Good Daedra the Ashlanders follow) - they are not considered to be religions, but a cult, a sect, something not officially supported and propagated by a local state. Please, read the guide I referenced in the OP - many of your possible questions might be answered there. Thank you :)!

Wasn't there even a Tribunal Temple rp group some time ago? With a cloister or temple as their guild hall? Unfortunately, I'm not sure what their name was. Even if I'd probably not roleplay with them that much, I would have loved to stop by their temple from time to time.

    Riddle'Thar (Khajiiti Religion)
I have 7 characters, they all have different personalities, experiences and beliefs, some of which match up with the more well known religions, some don't.

I voted for my khajiit templar because it's probably the simplest answer among my main characters. She largely follows typical khajiiti beliefs, although her main deities are Khenarthi and Azurah and having spent a lot of time in Highrock in recent years her views of Khenarthi are somewhat merging with the breton view of Kynareth. (She still laughs at the bretons saying no one should worship Azura or trying to compare her to evil daedra like Molag Bal.)

Then there's my breton warden who takes more of a 'pick n' mix' approach to religion. She was raised to be a good breton lady and worship the Divines, then ran away from home and met the Wyresses, travelling between several Wyrds and even some Reach clans, who introduced her to Y'ffre and Ehlnofey, Hircine and Azura, and other daedra...and some stranger creatures. Other encounters introduced her to other gods, like Meridia. She's open to the belief that all these beings exist but does not consider all of them worthy of worship, or in some cases even worth the risk of having any involvement with. Hircine in particular she's carefully respectful of, but does not follow or worship and has turned down an offer to become a werewolf more than once. Ultimately I suppose she's devoted to Nirn itself, but sees aspects of it reflected in Kynareth, Azura, Y'ffre, the Ehlonfey and other dieties and honours or calls on them as she thinks it's appropriate.

The others are less well defined and I won't get into all of them, but it's a similar idea. About the only belief not reflected in my lot is athiesm, which is maybe odd considering I'm an athiest in real-life. But they've seen plenty of evidence that various powerful beings and dieties exist and that it would be a very bad idea to ignore them (for a start most of them have done the main story, so they went through the whole mess of being murdered and ending up in Coldharbour, breaking out, building an army and breaking back in, then defeating Molag Bal. After all that it would be a little difficult to doubt the daedra exist.)

I'm not saying that you don't know something, Azuramoonstar. Moreover, I agree with what you have written to me this time. I only say that we speak of completely different things, having not reconciled on what a religion is, it's definition, it's functions, features, etc. We have different perceptions of the very same word. Within my definition it is all ok there, though I understand it's not ok to you because you understand that word differently. For that very case I have offered to read the guide I gave a link to in the OP. You may agree or disagree with it, but there's no reason to argue :).
