Why so much Mag toons for KA?

Just a curious observation and question I have in regards to the KA trial. I have yet to do it but in cruising the logs I see almost all Mag toons doing it, with a rare Stam here and there.
Why? Is it that Mag is just that much stronger or is it a mechanics thing and ranged is the best option? And if it is the latter, would not say a bow/bow Necro be ok in there or no?
Just odd to see a trial where almost all the classes in there are mag...well, odd to me at least. ;)

I wouldn't draw too many conclusions from the actual class breakdown, @Joxer61 ... not all Trial groups use the logs when they have other tools to keep track of their runs (e.g. Combat Metrics add-on).

PUG groups for KA (which could have many stam characters) rarely use the logs too.

The logs are useful, though, to see what raid teams are using skill-wise for the mechanics of each boss fight.

Part of it is that magicka characters are performing better than stamina this patch. Blood for blood allows any class to sustain without any investment so they can build to have more health and resources than a stamina build. Some players have been managing thrassian stranglers as well, also increasing the damage discrepancy even further.

With these two things being nerfed this upcoming patch I imagine the situation will change.

Mag is just stronger. They were outperforming stam last patch without b4b and thrassian.

I think also because the adds are OP and Mag has better cleave. Also Thrassians.

    in what way?

Magicka can be ranged without sacrificing dps which is important in most trials. A trial group often builds for mag groups exclusively because they need mag dps for range which means stamina are not needed/wanted in that composition.

MagDKs were also so strong last patch no other class could compete on dps for most content. This patch it’s thrassians and bfb that’s caused the imbalance.

It’s worth mentioning shields since mag dps become so much more survivable with them.

Based on that theory one would think then that bow/bow builds would be more popular than there are, or is the damage just that much lower?

Ever since the Trappings Webs nerf and the DoT nerf, Bow-bow DPS is basically a meme again.

Play stam. Just because the top logs are all mag doesn't mean stam can't complete all the content in the game.
