Antiquities that are really annoying to get

So, everyone. What's giving you grief?

For me, it's some of the antiquities that drop from safeboxes. Right now I'm having trouble with the Tri-Angled Truth Altar and the Silvenar Sap-Stone. Safeboxes are plentiful in Bal Foyen, but I ran around for three hours rapid fire opening them and couldn't get the Truth Altar to drop. (I have a guar collection for my troubles, and a piece for a second music box.) As for the Sap-Stone, I'm convinced that safeboxes just don't exist in Malabol Tor. Every time I get to a location where there is meant to be one, it's gone. I did manage to loot one, and waited at that location for twenty minutes for it to respawn, but it never did.

As a PvEr, the lancers from the gladiator coffers from the cyro conquest board. Wouldn't be so bad if they could also drop from the more PvE-oriented quests (looking at you, scout board). But alas, my PvE butt has to somehow cap three keeps for a CHANCE at the lancers.

Also, the BG one - which isn't SO bad, since you can come in second and still get the reward box. But I've done BGs every day since Greymoor dropped, and only gotten that lead once.

Trying to get that lead for the golden can of Fancy Feast is like looking for a beatle in some of grey slacks.

Believe it or not, motifs. It's in large part because they're specific to each zone. For example, I need Ancestral Nord Bows and Chest, only available from Stonefalls Treasure Map Chests.

Other than that, I can see the two in Imperial City being a nightmare.

So far, as far as I know, the lead only drops from Sellistrix in the Arx Crominium.
I'll get it, eventually, but as a soloist I'm not a fan of leads being confined to only Dungeon final bosses AND the drop-rate controlled by RNGeezus.

Everything from fishing - makes me feel like a true treasure hunter by just sitting and pressing e from time to time. And after 2 hours I quit most of the time without the piece I'm after.

Antiquities... doing the business of getting players to keep playing the older content...

With Arx, just ask for players who are building an Easy Sorc and you’ll have company for life. And in contrast to Volenhell, it’s actually a fun dungeon and relatively fast. You can get the lead (and the Easy Sorc lightning staff) on normal.

The one I’ve found most painful was the wolf bit in the delve... not so much because the drop rate was so poor, but because so many ‘big boy’ damage dealing idiots seem to enjoy instakilling everything and depriving everyone else of even the chance of loot. I wish those morons just grasped the fact that one light attack will give you a loot drop and let others get their hits in too.

But generally really enjoying Antiquities (although I wish the scrying didn’t screen wobble or flash cos they’re just nauseating).

That's the last one I'm missing for the mount. Running Volenfell pretty causally, though.

The safebox lead for the music box took a while, but I wandered down the zones getting other leads in the process, and made progress towards Black Market Mogul, so that's all done. Working on the second music box now. Thieves Troves are hard to come by, though.

Then I want to work on some of the mythic items. Just taking it easy, though.

If you're a green lead that supposed drops from a treasure map there should not be this much RNG in the process. The RNG was already not fun trying to get the right map.

Then I open 50 of them and 0 leads.
And then even if I get a lead, it could be a duplicate.

I don't have Greymoor, but I can attest these accursed things drop in Malabol Tor because the broken mechanic of "Take All" doesn't apply to these damned things, forcing me to get caught more times than I should care to admit.

But since you're in a pickle, head to Velyn Harbor. One in the bank building and 2 in the TG building. The latter is where I see the most drops. There's a chest behind the Kajiit and another behind the guard in the back.

Take note of the revolving guard, and you should have the writ in no time.

I know this because I am doing my TG "Crime Spree" runs to level up things.

The piece of the music box from thieves troves. I was seeing those things everywhere before I started hunting, and now I rarely spot them The few I do find have just trash in them.

The issue I have with this piece is the constant message "this item is no longer available" when I try and loot it.

I stopped going for the wolf mount. It doesn't makes sense that parts in delves drop instantly while you slog through Volenfell ( I do it solo) and end up getting nothing.

Go to Bal Foyen on off hours. I tried finding the lead soon after it was fixed and was always a few milliseconds late to the safe boxes. I saw a lot of players open the boxes, but didn't find any to open myself.

Last Sunday I went there during my night time and there were fewer players around. I managed to open a good number of safe boxes and eventually got the lead.

I got the Silvenar Sap-Stone the day the fix went live. I ported to Black Villa and was on my way to the Baandari Trading Post when I decided to check the delve nearby. I got the lead from a strangler in the boss room. A friend of mine got it from a chest in the same delve a few minutes later. IIRC pretty much anything in Malabal Tor can drop it.

Yeah, see, I was one of those inconsiderate jerks hogging all of the safeboxes. lol I stayed in that round crafting room in town and just zipped around picking up all of the boxes. Besides breaks, I was at it for a few hours, didn't get the lead to drop, and ended up with a 50k bounty. Maybe I just have especially bad luck.

Guides online say the Sap-Stone drops from safeboxes, but if it's from anything, that makes things much easier for me!

That happens when you attempt to loot a Lead for items that you have 'in progress'.
You can't accumulate copies of Leads for items that you haven't assembled.

You either have that Lead and haven't Scried the item yet, or you Scried the item but haven't Excavated it yet, or you Excavated the item but it's only a fragment of a larger item (like the Music Box) and the main item itself is incomplete. After completing your Music Box, then your next blue/purple/gold Lead will be lootable again.

I wouldn't call them inconsiderate jerks. It's an MMO, and as such, things that aren't instanced are on a first come, first serve basis. It doesn't bother me when someone else gets to the resource before I do.

I can't bring myself to do rounds like you did, and with antiquities, the few times I tried farming it like that I got nothing but frustration.
My "white whale" when it comes to antiquities was the mammoth's skull. I spent hours every day going round and round killing mammoths. I killed mammoths everywhere, including Cyro. I waited for them to respawn and killed them again. I killed the bosses with a companion mammoth in both the Rift and Eastmarch more times than I care to count. No lead.
I gave up a week or so ago. The other day I went to Malabal Tor, saw some mammoths on the side of the road and killed one. The lead dropped.

Getting enough golds and purples to get that last level is what's driving me insane.

Nest of Shadows in Arx Corinium has been a nightmare. I got my first one on my 3rd run. My second at about run #20. I'm up near 50 runs now and no sign of the third one for my codex.

The dragon drops are also annoying. I think I got lucky and got my 3 southern ones fairly quick. Maybe 20 dragons total. I'm still missing my 3rd stained glass from the north and seeing as zone only seems interested in hitting one dragon out of three, that has been a bit of a grind.

I haven't really started on the BG or Gladiator coffer ones yet, but I'd imagine as a mostly PVE'er, I won't be gaining them at any sort of fast rate at all.

Leveling. I honestly don't care what antiquities I get now that I have that ring that makes you faster. But I do have one lead that I need to reach level 10 to take care of. I'm probably halfway through 9, but I hate the idea of devoting time to search for leads to level or grinding lesser leads repeatedly. I'm trying to grab the quick guaranteed drop leads.

Once I get to 10 and take care of that one I can't currently do, I can get back to just playing the game and taking leads as they come.

The rarer the lead, the longer we should have before it expires to not encourage grinding.

The sites I look at say you can either get it from the trial or treasure maps in Gold Coast. But I've done so many treasure maps there I'm beginning to doubt if the information is correct.

Meridian Sconce drops from the end boss of Depths of Malatar. I've received 2 from normal as have many people I've grouped with. Your source seems to be inaccurate.

Moth Priest Cleansing Bowl... I'm still not sure if this is available on xbox yet and where exactly it drops. It's the last furnishing I need. I've opened countless chests in imperial city and the sewers... can someone confirm if it's available on xbox and what it drops from plz.
