Anyone who likes to be surprised by the presentations of ZOS, do not read, because I am almost sure that I am right, somehow.

Well, last year we had the leak of the Gloomspore Crate card art, and many people discovered that Blackreach was our destination, right?

This year, we had a new leak: the Potentate Crate. Normally, we would associate this with either the Second Empire, or with the Akaviri, right? But Crate's art is undeniable. It has red rubies, a red crest like imperial helmets, and golden details.

If that's how it was this year: Crates themed with the DLC, then, well, it's almost certain that next year we will be heading towards some part not yet explored in Cyrodiil's ESO.

Hammerfell would be cool, and I hope to still have something from Hammerfell next year, as Hammerfell was mentioned a lot on Greymoor. But with the existence of these cards ... well ... Hard to find that it could be anything other than Cyrodiil.

I agree. Zenimax always make it clear where next DLC is. Even in first dungeons of this year they reference the Imperial library. Usually the references only point to the province we are going to and not what the chapter is about. This has been widely known knowledge by the dedicated ESO players for awhile now.

I just hope that Blackmarsh is next as Cyrodil and Hammerfell are two of the most boring areas. Two back to back years of super boring content is enough to make me go crazy.

I have this sinking feeling you may get your wish, and I don’t like it one bit.

I think the trend shows, that it’ll be a re-hash of old assets, in a last grasp / gasp / gash - to capitalize on people’s addictions & 25-year true love of the Elder Scrolls lore... and then, that’ll be it. :(

The area east of Elsweyr and south of Cyrodil who was part of TES 3 Oblivion down to Leyawiin makes some sense, you could also move it more eastward into Blackmach but not so far south.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

i think they will bring in the tiber septium wars, which started in the 2nd era, taking all dlc's etc for the last few years its pointing that way, and norms by now most moo's have world flagged pvp, to me the biggest clue is a certain delve in skyrim that has nothing to do with the story

I hope not. I'm not overly fond of PvP, but I think the Cyrodiil war zone, the Imperial City, and the Imperial City Sewers should be left as they are.

They can't because of the year eso is set that is like 400 years away that would be breaking lore greatly if they did this.

In lore terms the Gold Coast where the Dark Brotherhood DLC is set is part of Cyrodiil, so we've already got one Cyrodiil map which is not a PvP map. There's no reason to think they couldn't add other missing parts of Cyrodiil as PvE maps too.

Or, since there's hints of Hammerfell as well, maybe they could add a map which crosses the border, like how the northern half of Bangkorai is in Highrock and the southern half is in Hammerfell. There's no reason the game maps have to match up to political borders, especially ones which aren't currently well defined or enforced.

If not Hammefell proper, then the remaining Cyrodiil with Skingrad and the East Part of Hammerfel/N Gold Coast. which is currently missing.

Definitely going to be Covenant zone, as had no big zone since Wrothgar came out in 2015!!!!

Cyrodiil as a PVP zone has a flotation device that could raise the Titanic. I doubt you need to worry.

My nagging concern is along the lines of "PVP is neglected" is that they will decide to do a PVP Chapter and year. That will pretty much be my exit cue for the game, as an entire year of just dungeons and PVP would leave me with no content that would keep me around.

While you are probably being a bit facetious with your reply, I think the OPTION for PvP anywhere in ESO is a good idea with some tweaking. I don't even like PvP either but PvP NEEDS some better options than what is currently available. Maybe make an option (disabled by default) so you can flag yourself to participate in world-wide PvP. WoW already has this feature, it's called "War Mode". ESO should have the same option and take away the silly "Invite to Duel" option. Just let like-minded PvP'ers hash it out as they see fit, wherever they see fit. A simple on/off toggle is all that's required and a change like this wouldn't force PvE'rs into any change. Maybe just disable PvP in towns however. Not sure why it isn't like this already, makes a lot more sense imho.

    https://wow.gamepedia.com/War_Mode
"War Mode allows players on any realm to participate in open-world PvP with like-minded players in the ongoing battle between the Horde and the Alliance. Turning on War Mode applies the [Enlisted] buff and provides incentives to compensate for the perceived risk of being targettable by the opposing faction."

The problem is that you cannot wage war in regions which serve as rear and not front.

The Cyrodiil PvP must remain PvP. This large region includes Great forest, Mounts Jerall, Heartlands, Nibenay Bassin and a small stretch of West Weald, Valus Mountains and Nibenay valley.
And this area is a war zone. It's the forehead. A region which is in 2E 582 where the war is very active and the Planemeld too.

With the latest DLC / Chapters we are evolving over time and the geopolitical context has changed a bit.
Seen the chancellor in Elsweyr, the Empire is again on foot and has taken over land. His way of expressing himself of the necromancers suggests that they were banished from the Empire.
Without forgetting that with Carolus Aquilarios propelled to the summit of the power of the Gold Coast, he may have approached the Empire in which he is loyal.

We have two imperial territories with two completely different cultures.
Colovian Estates which continues to be the armed wing of the Empire. Also responsible for the Highrock and Valenwood invasions.
And the Nibenay ... We don't know much except the troubles suffered by Bravil (possibly occupied by the Dominion) or Leyawiin and his trade agreements.

People saying they will get rid of pvp land cryo.....dont think that will happen. but might get a pve version as well, dragon break, new thing etc etc.... would keep pvp and pve players happy. :)

But yes it is poiting that Cyro will be the next chapter or the one after, they hinted at skyrim in sumerset with some npc's. In greymoor both cyro and hammerfell have been mentioned. Plus the zones go by the player races. Gunna be a cool year next year. :)

The question is "Colovia or Nibenay ?".

I have high expectations and looked forward to this imperial year with great impatience ...
Especially since for the Colovia, there are so many possible intrigues that promise to be very interesting. But the trend is leaning in favor of Nibenay according to some.

I wonder if the architecture of the Second Empire will still be used ... Just like the furniture of the Second Empire that we never had. (You know, this architectural style that many mistakenly call the colovian style).

I really wish this were real, because Cyrodiil is SUCH an important and lore-rich place to be turned into an empty zone that has no critters and no storyline.

BUT Cyrodiil is currently like The Definition of PvP in ESO for a lot of people, and also all the basegame questlines are based on the Soulburst & the Three Banners War. So they COULD write a story of Cyrodiil's devastation during/after the Soulburst, but they would HAVE to replace open-world PvP.

And even a better, improved open-world PvP replacement of Cyrodiil would leave a lot of players sad and salty to have a core element of ESO changed in such a drastic way
