Yes, that was supposed to be a joke. While it could be fun, I don't think it would fit TES. Mounted combat generally would be nice, though.

A double-seater in PvP is extremely useful in Cyrodiil ... where not every player in the group has their mount speed or rapids skill fully maxed.

It's using new mounts. On the stream they showed a dwemer crab that was able to hold a driver and a passenger, a bit like a motorcycle with a rider and a pillion passenger.

Not quite the chariots, wagons and war mammoths I was dreaming of.

War mammoths with cold fire ballistas would be ohhh so cool in Cyrodiil.

Agree, yes its cool and new, probably sell well in crown store.
However they was not uncommon in WOW and people complained that randoms could just jump on everywhere from in cities to pvp. Now an group mount holding an 4 man group would be something.

Oh no, LOL!! The only thing that's kept my duo partner awake when we play late during the past three years was that there was no autofollow mode, now I'm gonna end up driving a snoozing passenger everywhere! xD But seriously this is cool, I like it. Better late than never.

I wonder if both people need the shadow rider perk or just the rider. Would give you a pretty good insight in how this is implemented.

This looks like an extension of the feature they can use to buckle entities to each other, I think that was first used in Morrowind for an actual gameplay mechanic.
Certainly interesting that it got extended to player entities, would be neat to see it used in other, non-fluff, content.

A 2 player mount seems like it might be used a bit in pve zones.
A mount or cart that would have 1 driver and carry at up to 11 other players would be better for Cyrodiil.

Question is the Mount be a in game purchase for gold, a mythic item, a Crown Store or Crate exclusive?
