They just stay there and no one is attacking. And it is sunday evening, PC EU server. Who had the brilliant idea to lock antiquities behind dragons?!

They really need to do something about North Elsweyr. The zone needs desperately more wayshrines.

Mid year mayhem going on. All the zones are empty. I actually find that a good time to farm overland gear on my solo toons. Can run my magplar through any of the public dungeons multiple times without a bunch of randoms screwing the boss rotation. Just too bad the pieces I need won’t actually drop!

Poor game design is bad enough, but failure to learn from your mistakes and lack of the qualities necessary to rectify them is far worse.

People have been trying to let ZOS know about the lack of weyshrines in N Elsweyr and the negative impact this has on the game ever since its release. The message fell on such deaf ears they simply repeated the errors in Greymoor.

But any fule kno that dragons in N Elsweyr are a pain due to rubbish placement and a lack of weyshrines.

I'm not going to say that thethe dragon runs are near wayshrines... but come on, it's 30 seconds to ride there. Not the end of the world - especially since there aren't enough people in zone to kill dragons that fast.

ZOS needs to fix N. Elsweyr to make dragons like Harrowstorms - the next one will not spawn until that one is killed. If *everyone* who wants to kill dragons in N Elsweyr went to the two OTHER dragons as well, they'd die.

Same on EU PS4 today northern elsweyr, dragons just sitting there... even with the event on I expected some folk to still be about. In general I’m not a fan of the zone it’s layout seems designed to frustrate (and lets not mention 90% doors have those ugly chains and locks)

If they bothered to put wayshrines in good locations people would go their more often, at first it was a pain because by the time you got to the dragon fight it might already be dead now people don't even bother going to the other dragons and just spawn camp the one near a wayshrine at the top of the map.

They added extra wayshrines to western Skyrim they have no excuse now not to do the same in Northern catland.

The sheer PITA factor of a dragon fight if there aren't enough people present is a major factor as well. Who actually wants to spend fifteen minutes fighting one dragon because only five people showed up and two of them are sub-50s?

Many of us predicted that dragons were going to turn into a nightmare when they weren't the new shiny content, and I'm willing to be Harrowstorms will be even more dead a year from now than dragons are now, even with the two new shrines.

I'd suggest you all go a step further and ask to be able to port to dragons directly. Gosh, are you people lazy! Or do you hate this game so much that every additional minute spent there is a torture?

I really like ESO... There’s a load of cool stuff to be doing. But poor design is poor design and there’s no excuse for it.

Spending ages riding to a dragon which might easily be dead or utterly unpopulated when I eventually arrive there is absolutely no fun. I have better things to do in game.

Compare the crappy weyshrine placement and static dragons of Northern Elsweyr to the near-constant dragon fights in Southern Elsweyr, which has well placed/distanced weyshrines and you’ll see how good game design can encourage repeated play.

Let’s hope that ZOS have the nous to recognise when the design needs a bit of a tweak to make it work better and stick a couple more weyshrines in N Elsweyr.

I have no problem riding to any of the dragons. I do have a problem fighting them with inadequate people. And lots of others do have a problem with riding to the dragons. It turns into a self-fulfilling prophecy. No one does the SE or SW dragons, so no one does the SE or SW dragons. Even those of us willing to ride down there don't because it's pointless. You can call out on zone all you want. Everyone's just going to wait at the north shrine. You can't beat them, so you join them.

It’s because if you die and respawn at a wayshrine 30 seconds away, there’s a good chance you won’t get credit for the kill and have just wasted 10 minutes of your life for nothing.

Personally, I rez myself on the spot with soul gems, but many can’t or won’t. Stand by the Star Haven wayshrine during a northern dragon fight and watch how many dead people pop out of it. Then you’ll understand why nobody fights the two southern dragons.

I am longing for more of these lunar windows as well, but people only ever do the northern dragon. :/ 30 dragons in northern elsweyr is a nightmare and that is what it took me without getting my 2nd window. With my tankbuild it takes forever to solo them.

definitely not enough wayshrines in Northern Elsweyr and not enough in western skyrim either. The problem I see with many of the group events are as people lose interest in a zone the events become impossible to do because you can't get enough people to help. Maybe they need to scale them to the number of people in an area if that's possible by adjusting the number of adds that pop up.

This is fine criticism... except they added Wayshrines to Western Skyrim for literally the exact same issue; it was just a long ride to the Harrowstorms and now they have it so it takes less than 10 seconds from the wayshrines to get to those now.

So why not do the same for the two N Elsweyr dragons?

My guess is because they are still trying to sell Greymoor (new content) vs. now included DLC (Elsweyr, old content).

It would go a long way towards helping their credibility in regards to listening to players, but the real question is whether they wish to pull a person currently working on Eastern Skyrim off future development to work on old content.

This is not so much different than Bittergreen wandering unmolested in Deshaan -- get a group together and take it down.
Demanding Alik'r Dolmen convenience seems to be the new norm. If so they might as well just put dragons and dolmens into dungeons and other instances. Then you can group-finder and go in right away.
(FFXIV actually does this for certain encounters -- they put the story before and after it. You just go in via group-finder to do the one key boss fight. No tedious walking through trash mobs, no NPCs to talk to, no books to find and read... None of the things people who are interested in the story would need to ask the group to stop for.)

There's even a daily for Northern Elsewyr dragons... shows how much min-maxing goes on in ESO, even when ZOS tries to make overland interesting. And some people want ZOS to waste time on a harder overland even.
