Wailing Prison quest bug

I've just started playing the game and am meant to be able to get a weapon from a body that Lyris points out to me after opening the prison door in the Wailing Prison. There is no weapon to be found on this body in my game, I tried completely logging out for 15 minutes which made no difference and was unable to abandon the quest as I was not given the choice to do so, please can someone look into this for me as I am completely stuck and can go no further just fighting with my fists. Thank you.
