ESO email legit?

Just got an email from ESO saying here is my code for the pet and gives a unique code. I find this weird since all free pets I got from ESO I never had to enter a code. Anyone else get this? Is it legit? If so, do we not just get it in game?

I really don't want to click on the link and be scammed giving my password to "log in".

There is a redemption option when you access the crown store in game. Id try the code there. This ESO help article will also tell you how to redeem a code.

Thank you so much. So worried about scams everywhere, I couldn't tell if the email was legit or not.

I did what the link said to do that you gave. So it was legit. I guess ESO changed the layout of their emails now.

Usually when they add pets or whatever to accounts it can take a while for everyone to get them and there's people who should qualify who get missed out (or who don't realise they got it because there isn't always a notification). Maybe they're experimenting with emailing codes instead to see if that goes more smoothly.

Especially since the condition to qualify is you've signed up for emails from ZOS, so they'll have the mailing list ready made.

Well if they are going to switch to email, it would be nice if they remembered that cut/paste from email is a bit challenging on console so spaces in the long code would be appreciated.
