I am bad at PVP and worse at making PVP builds. I've found a lot of helpful PVP builds, but none seem to be for vampires. Does that mean vampires are bad for PVP now? I'd love to build my new nightblade vamp as a PVP character, so if anyone could point me to builds or recommendations that would be appreciated!

Ugh. Almost all vampires stay stage 1 now, so not a lot of vampire "class" play going on.
Mist still useful for the same reasons as before. Hypnosis a weaker Fear, can be useful, but can fail.
Simmering Frenzy can be used for ganks. Balorgh+Blood Scion is a fearsome combo, but people will just run away from you.
Dark Stalker is Dark Stalker, Undeath got buffed but is not worth the stage 3 cost increase. I have yet to see some vampire run into invisibility.
Basically, you don't see many vampire builds because there aren't many. This pseudo "class" doesn't work, the passives are not worth the downsides and everyone is using vamp just like before, for a single support skill, without ever feeding.

I'm absolutely happy with my stage 3 and I happy that everybody cleansed. No more blocking of combo follow-up with Mist, no more surviving of 5 onslaught executioners at 15% with block heal.
Vampire is bad and awful, cleanse it :)

    Nord Stam necro Stage 3,
    5h/2m fury, orgnum, balorgh
2h maul sharpened /s&b (dmg comes from high penetration)
    Accessories all infused cost decrease/stamreg
Sugar skull buffood (or the bi stat gold, don't remember the name atm)

Brawler build for bg only. Very tanky below 60%hp. After ultimate high dmg.
Downside u need to HA to sustain longer fights.

I like vamp when it works. I wouldn't build it to play as a vampire; I just like the supplemental skills.

Hmmm, this is disappointing but I guess I'm not surprised! I guess I'll just keep my dedicated vamp character to PVE then and try something else for PVP. Thanks for the responses!

The biggest thing about a vamp build is you have to directly build for it. And most of the people who do guides are never going to do that because it won't be a meta build.

It does provide an interesting synergy with a few classes. I built my Magplar around vampire, with the ult back barred. And you just wreck people on flags during keep takes when that ult is up.

I'm not exactly a high-level magBlade but I kept vampire (at Stage 4) on mine and have really been enjoying it in BGs and in Cyrodiil.

She's using Stuhn's, Bright-Throat's (used to be Amber Plasm but didn't like having that small of a Magicka pool), Maelstrom Restro (to mitigate vampire sustain issues), and the Wild Hunt ring (used to be Slimecraw) in order to really stack hard into cloaked mobility.

I ended up ditching Swallow Soul in favor of Concealed Weapon and its ability to provide more cloaked movement speed, proc Stuhn's, and provide a frankly more reliable stun than Mesmerize. With all of the movement speed, it's very easy to flank enemies and set up the stun and burst combo. When cloaked or in Stealth, the movement speed is faster than many classes can sprint and when running with the Stage 4 passive you move as fast as a sprinting horse for a negligible Stamina cost.

Basic cloaking will provide you with basically 100% uptime for the damage passive and if you catch someone alone or out of position then Sated Fury can be used safely... as long as you're pre-buffing with Radiating Regen.

The Sprint passive is mostly useful in Cyrodiil but the reduced stealth passive is useful across-the-board and allows you to easily trade Stamina for Magicka if you ever get into a rough spot on resources.

Overall, magBlade is definitely the premier class for the vampire playstyle but you can make it work on other classes as well. Rumors of its demise were greatly exaggerated.

Here's my build for a Vampire overlord for BGs: it relies to a greater self sustain and a restricted window for a deadly burst damage.

    http://www.eso-skillfactory.com/en/share/41314/

Use this monster set, impen trait:

    https://elderscrollsonline.wiki.fextralife.com/Balorgh+Set

5 pieces of body armor of this set, still impen:

    https://elderscrollsonline.wiki.fextralife.com/Shalk+Exoskeleton+Set

And finally this for the jewelry and staves, penetration staves and spell power jewels:

    https://elderscrollsonline.wiki.fextralife.com/Vampire+Lord+Set

As food use the Corrupting Bloody Mara: since the build places health at the same importance of your magika pool: you will end up having roughly over 30 k of health and magika on BGs.

You will want to use health and invisibility potions: they will keep you up even more and the cheap inv will allow you to boost your spell power by 300 thanks to the vamp passives (and remember the catalysp perk for the extra 20 ult points per potion!).

This whole build expolits the stage 4 vampirism to ge the most out of your health dependant abilities.
The vampire lord set allows you to ripe the benefits at almost no expense and being a breton overcomes the remaining fire weakness and increase magika cost problems.
Your major sustain provided by the nightblade class and the heavy armor focus will keep you alive while you spam blood for blood, and you will hit like a truck the more damaged you are and greatly boosted by your sated fury, conveniently sotred on your main bar to toggle it off at any time.
But EVERYTHING you do is focused to get your ultimate up. The moment you proc you literally melt the enemy since the balorgh set which gives 12 seconds of high penetration and demage (remember that the effect increases regardless of the ult cost, it is all about the number of ult points you have stored when you press the ult).
When you transofm you can also proc sated fury for 660 additional spell damage and the health cost it asks is highly compensated by an high health pool and superior regeneration thanks to dark cloack and swallow soul and the extra 10000 HP you get form the ult (plus healing back at full health when you transform).
You can get up to 1160 additional spell damage and up to 11500 spell pen and you also have to consider the major socery buff you get from the sap essence ability.
All of this adds to the defensive buffs you get from the shadow skill line.
You MUST chose nightblade because of the regeneration, self heal you get and because of the faster ultimate point generation you get from the catalyst and transfer perks. That and the shalk's set will allow you to transform VERY OFTEN, also considering that the 4th stage of vampirims lowers the ult cost ot its minimum (under 200 ult points).
Being a nightblade in heavy armor boosts your regenerating effects, health and passive major buffs granted by the shadow passives.

The rotation is not easy: you need to properly set the situation and apply the buffs and debuff, but once you laearn it and to toggle sated fury properly you will really become deadly.
My advice is to let the enemy maul you as much as you can before using the ult, heal back at full health with the proc and unleash your inner demon on them (but beware of the finishing moves!)
Try to not use the potion when you are transformed: you would benefit from the spell power boos from the inv break vampire perk, yes, but the hiding effect of the inv would be broken by the ult's aoe and you WOULD NOT GAIN the 20 ult points that the catalyst perks grants upon drinking a potion: always drink them outside the transformation.

Your weakness are elusive players: your kit has no gap closer and you need to be a melee range to deal the real damage. If the enemy escapes too fast for you when you transforms it basically ruins your ultimate burst damage! Yes, you can use the twisting path to go faster but if you are struggling with coward enemies you can get more from the vrippling grasp nightblade ability: 2 seconds root, 4 seconds of 30% slow and an improved dot.

The other downside of the build is its hard CC: the hypnosis skill proves hard to land, even unreliable because of desyncs and enemies casting and fighting even when not properly facing you. The positive sides is that there is no way to escape this CC, no block.
If you are struggling to master this CC you can always try to use the "Mass hysteria" shadow morph but keep in mind that it is not a vamp ability so it will cost more while being even more costly than hypnosis even without any regular ability cost increase debuff and that it also stuns on a 6 meters radius against the 7 meters of hypnosis.

You can trade the increased self heal granted by Swallow soul for the nightblade finishing move "Impale" or the gap closer "Lotus fan" or maybe hinder the enemy with crippling grasp.

    IMPORTANT NOTE:
The use of exhilarating drain is highly discouraged in pvp. Although you your get a very nice boos to your ult regeneration, the heal is never enough to keep you up even considering all your perks, since the percentage of health you get back is based on your missing one and it still is low even when you are close to death.
Plus the channelling deals little to no damage, foces you to maintain it, therefore impairing you form doing other actions and everyone can bash you, therefore interrupt your channelling and get a free stun.

I hope to have inspired someone! ;)

If you are considering how to run an actual vamp build....like stage 4 and all, a true vamp build, consider these guidelines

Torc is powerful at YoYoing your resource pools.....issue it normally has on builds is when one pool is always high, like most stam builds keep their mag pool low in combat so they only get the stam regen 95% of the time. So in this way the vamp increase cost is a good thing by helping you go to that 50% mark and back up. Mistform and blocking will let you freeze your stat pool in its place if you want to regen the other statpool. Mist cuts mag, so drop your mag with high costs to 49% and then go into mist and regen all of your stamina. mag at 5%? well just hold block and freeze your stam down to 49% and start getting your mag back to full. If both are down low, then the undeath mitigation allows your health to freeze by itself at lower and lower health. Pair this with Engine Guardian and you will do fine resource wise.

Without health recovery you must find sources of Heals per Second (HPS). Without HPS your health will feel too bouncy and you will likely get burst alot before you have a chance to get the heal off you want. HPS will give you that room to keep fighting even though you are being pressured. Likely you will run Radiating regen, think about running double dot lingering poisons. Any inclass HPS you can get will help make up for the loss of health recovery.

Be as efficient as possible, this means you are likely going to have to run 5/1/1 armor weights for undaunted. All triglyphs on armor, which helps you have your 50% mark at higher numbers. Think most mag builds like to sit at 10-13k stam for breakfree/sprint/roll......well with torc this is the mark you want at your 50% ideally. Bewitched Sugar Skulls for the tristat, yes the health recov is wasted but it is still worth it for the cheap golded tristat food.

As for ult gen if you want to use the vamp ult, look into running a decisive backbar potentially and using Exhilarating drain. Or just try to ignore how long it takes and try to make something that just survives longer to get ult and then do damage.(tbh i find the sit and wait playstyle boring so *** that) Potentially look for something like ult/ability cost reduction through potentates or alteration mastery (yes alteration affects ult....along with block/roll/dodge/sprint last i checked a while ago)

Not my builds...but found these on youtube and have tried them out. I am not about to 1vX the world (probably says more about my skill level), but they were pretty effective and a ton of fun.
