stadia players, how is it?

how is the game for you? is there a small delay as it was thought to be?

i am not up to date about what is this exactly or how this works, but i heard it has a small delay like 0.2 sec from streaming back to you from them.

as far as i know, it's just as GeforceNOW, but i don't know what difference there is between this and Stadia; do we have GeforceNOW players too? how is it?

It's amazing. Being able to switch from laptop to t.v. to phone is great. I rarely have any lag. My load screens are faster. The only issue is the occasional screen freeze. The movement on phone is fluid and sharp. I have no regrets.

horrible. tested it - doubles the lag in cyrodil. Can’t recommend it.

It seemed fine to me. I haven’t had cause to login in the last week or so but there was no lag when I played it.

Less you have fiber at home it is total trash. As well make sure if on comcast to pay for unlimited data because it will consume data.

EXCELLENT playing on my phone with controller mostly now. Few things that could be better specifically predictive text and improved voice, mostly have to use discord and typing sucks. Gameplay is better than PS4 esp in Cyrodill. No major issues performance wise, most people who complain about performance have potato internet or don't know to to optimize wireless. That's outside of just ESO though.

The most common reason for the bad experience is not the internet quality, but the physical distance from the Stadia servers.

guess it comes down to have good and stable your internet is...Beides I just dont trust stadia or google...in case they decide to simply change their service or end it all together...google is throwing a lot of money at this (why I assume some publishers kick out the much better geforce now service) reception so far has been lukewarm at best...and googles track record on their non core business endevors is also rather poor...

This is factually incorrect. Almost every reported issue is due to poor in home wireless performance, lack of 5Ghz, or generally poor connectivity to ISP. Hardwired north of 20-30Mbps stable is flawless. Wirelsss able to sustain that rate at 5Ghz is flawless. I've played probably on a dozen or so networks at this point.

Okay, for logging into alts or for logging in when away from your PC.

Plays badly and obviously has zero video customization or 3rd party UI addons.

It seemed to work fine for me if I played for less than an hour at a time. Both times I played for more than an hour my connection quality dropped to the point where it was unplayable and never really recovered. My best guess is that my ISP was throttling my connection because it was detecting sustained high data usage.

Ultimately, for me, it's not a viable alternative to my PS4 Pro. It's disappointing because I like the idea of not being tied to specific hardware.

The entire selling point of remote cloud based game streaming is that you pay for the benefits of a strong machine via an adequate internet connection on top of the streaming platforms monetized service.

Having the game locked at 30fps and essentially having the visual effects set to what the ps4 pro version runs, defeats the purpose entirely.

This is stadia over promising and then the developers that are on the platform realizing in the real actual world, broadband is not stable and strong enough nor readily available to enough people to actually match the sales pitch that google made and thus have to downtune their games for a passable playing experience.

This technonogly is getting close but it's not ready yet. You see this in other industries over history, tech companies realizing something is JUST about ready but not quite so they all scramble to get in on the ground floor out of fear they will be late to the party.

Stadia Pro has a 1 month free and I am trying it out.

Here's the deal after testing this out a bit

    On the TV
    - on the tv, graphics looks nice but as a pc player, I am not used to the controls and 2 zoom modes
    - (third person looks too zoomed in for me esp in PVP)

    Chrome Browser
    - graphics are very low looking
    - can use keyboard and mouse
    - response is not bad, but not as good as the PC when all is working well
    - Personally, I did not experience the severe lag spikes i normally sit through with the PC

If you need another way to log in to do dailies, undaunted, feed your horse, farm matts...
Stadia is not bad at all.

Even PVP in Cryodiil is doable on this thing.

Only gripe is the graphics. If that area improves, then this will be a legit option to play ESO.

Just a note to everyone playing on the TV.

You can zoom out by going to settings > Video. Zoom out to the max and it will give you a better experience.

Since I already have a Chromecast ultra, and not much cash lying around to fix a dead second PC, and 5 gigahertz wifi, I was wondering if this might work for my kid's gaming time. The controller costs 60 dollars and I've got an alt ESO account already set up, do I need the monthly Google subscription to play on Stadia if I already have an ESO account?

You either need to buy ESO for Stadia OR subscribe to Stadia Pro (which currently includes ESO). Also, if you only buy the game instead of subscribing, you'll be limited to 1080p resolution and stereo sound.
