I get it's midyear mayhem, but it's a little absurd that people are able to use doors while in combat. I've had multiple people camp a keep by just popping out almost dying and popping back in the door.
Tis a very absurd mechanic to abuse.

Can you use doors when hit recently? In my experience doors won't open if you've taken damage recently.

Keep doors for keeps your alliance owns can be entered while getting attacked. The experience you are talking about is PvE related. That may include some doors in Cyrodiil, but not with owned keeps.
No its a good thing finaly the doors work as intended. Why should someone not be able to use a door only because he's been hit by a sword?
Indeed, placing traps in front of doors in keep sieges is also a fun thing to do. Love when a bomber appears thru the gate, flies into the air and then dies.
This is an intended mechanic. You could always use keep doors while in combat.
Maybe just don't engage with them if they have a favorable position, such as a safe retreat place in the form of a keep.
It makes sense that you get an advantage for fighting in friendly terrain and it's absurd to describe sitting in your own turf as "camping".
some insight on what happened so yall can understand the situation a lil better.
was on my stamblade, fighting another stamblade, he'd pop out the front door, come for the fight, the second he hits 50% he beelines for the door, gets in instantly, even if i hit him with a stun, pops a couple heals/potion comes out rinse and repeat, i finally got him with a few lucky crits on bow and incap, but thats besides the point.
I guess i dont understand how you're able to work the door in combat. especially since as repeated earlier, somehow ill sit there for 10 seconds spamming the door button and it wont let me in. im not saying that it's not working as intended, im more curious to the ability at which he can do it, and why others are able to do it in combat.
i mean the cheesiness of fighitng like that is pretty cancerous but i wasn't gonna get into that yet

Maybe he just got his shadow up standing inside the keep and was just porting back to it all the time?

I used to do that on my MagBlade, shadow standing on the wall, I jumped down attacked some folks and teleported right back up.
I mean that's the whole point of being the defender on a siege i guess? You can retreat back inside whenever you are having a hard time?
Also doors in cyrodiil are kind of RNG; they could work on your first try, they might not work at all, they might not work at all while you are getting whacked by 10 guys but as soon as you die your character casually enters the keep or you could go in and out because friggin door over worked.
