Is using Deadly strike, Poisonous seprent with BRP bow a viable alt to hunding's + rele combo?

Deadly strike adds 20% DoT damage to poison/bleed/sickness proc and 250 weapon damage

Poisonous serpent adds a 50% chance to add 3400 damage on light/heavy attacks on poison status affected enemies with a 1s refresh time and 125 weapon damage

BRP bow adds poison DoT every 2s equal to 65% of Bombards initial damage for up to 12s

Would it be a more viable or a good alternative over the bog standart meta of hunding's rage 300 weapon damage and relequen slow harming wind build up giving 4.5k damage per tick?

    Short answer : Probably not.

Long answer: It wasn't a replacement when dots were overpowered, why should it be after dots are trashed?

Because it require time to get rele set to get its damage to ramp up and its relatively easy for a boss to cancel it via unbreakable CC/teleport invulnerability removing its hitbox?

Its basicaly trading the slow build up for instant & longer lasting damage

Sure won't beat a full 20 stack rele but the issue with rele is the stack lasting only 5s and being completely reset after those 5s requiring another 15-ish seconds to re apply them

Here you use 1 skill wich deals just as much DoT damage as a full 20 stack of harming wind when it crits (hitting 4.5k per tick and my current build isn't even that great) but only ticks half the time however you don't need to stack anything, a single hit is all is needed (greatly increased inital damage but lowered long term damage)

Add the NB passive adding 10% crit damage after a kill, the mentioned set 20% bonus damage and on top you get free 3400 damage on light attacks half the time while having more weapon damage than with hunding's alone

In summary from the proposed build I get : more weapon damage (extra 125), no damage build up time, longer lasting DoT, 3400 additional damage on my LA half the time compared to a normal rele/hunding combo, can buff my DoT damage beyond 4.5k but loose DoT damage due to it taking an extra second to tick (kinda compensated by the extra 3400 damage on LA half the time)

So on paper it does seems better or at least a good alt set, much better opening damage but less so in longer lasting battle
even though I don't have to worry about loosing the stacks

BRP bow was buffed recently . Poisonous serpent was left alone. Deadly strikes was buffed a couple of patches ago. Only testing will tell.

Replace serpent with venomous smite, and get a minor slayer set instead of deadly.
Smite is actually not bad damage it can cleave and you don't have to worry about it falling off.
Some ppl already tested and even on target dummy it's not a massive dps loss compared to Relequen, not to mention if you have stop dpsimg for whatever reason you don't run the risk of losing the proc.

Don't have Greymoor so il pass on that

Edit : nvm thought it was a dungeon set, looks better vs groups will try it out

Deadly strikes was buffed after dots got a MASSIVE nerf. Since they do modify how much damage dots do, the buff didn't really make the set better in the end.

nothing will replace rele for st dps. deadly is a very viable alternative to lokkestiiz, especially if youre in small group content and you cant achieve over 75% uptime on the lokke buff.

for aoe however you will likely want at least one of these sets equipped for the minor slayer, in which cs youd probably want to use lokke and deadly or lokke and some other decent aoe set.

against moving targets (mostly dungeons) everything will be better than Rele. So if you aim for vet dungeons, then go for it. If trials then stick with Rele.
