MIDYEAR MAYHEM announcement - please reconsider

this huge banner that was covering most part of my screen in character selection was a little...too much

and now it sticks like some kind of annoying shady flash banner advertise on site of...specific thematics

it is not only annoying "IN YO FACE" tipe of advertisement but this black square hides the pet on character selecting screen

please remove this masterpiece of bad design...there is no need in such things

just a message in announcements when logged in is really enough

be safe

I actually thought it was great - cool graphic, and demonstrates actual updates / communication.

    S.

Edit: I am a punk & quite critical of many things in this game, but this is simply not one of them. :)

The scrying advert is worse and the fact your journal always points to the scrying page. Waiting for an add-on to block it

I logged in, cleared the announcement. Logged out and back in again and the announcement did not appear the second time. As such it really is not that big of a deal. If it showed every time we swapped characters or even every time we logged into the game then yea, but that is not the case.

Edit: Taking notice, Zos has a smaller advert in the lower left-hand corner after the first login. It is easy to miss The big in-your-face advert works well to make sure everyone is aware of the event. That is a good thing as those that do not frequent the forum or website can easily miss this stuff.

I'm really sick of ZoS shoving banner ads down my throat.

And I bet they put this one on the character select so ad-ons can't shut them down automatically.

I like the idea of a large noticeable announcement so people know about the event. I don't think the launcher notification was ever quite clear enough for the majority of players. That being said, it's extremely large and intrusive. I'm not sure if I dislike that or not. People won't have any excuse for not knowing an event is going on now, which is nice, but it could be annoying if we'll be seeing it daily for the next two weeks.

Well, we won't be getting any threads this round with "...but nobody told me there was an event! What do you mean I have to read the notices on the launcher or the website or check out the Crown Store page every so often!"

I had to laugh when I opened the game. It's so obnoxiously in-your-face.

I can deal with the small one in the corner of the character screen. Just the big one was a bit much. At least it was a once-and-done thing.

It should have been neon pink, just to make sure I didn't miss it.

The banner is wrong, says event only 4 days left on my load screen... how hard is it to get things like this right?

With a monster truck/Wrestlemania-esque audio announcement too.
