Can somebody point me in the direction of the explanation for the extended maintenance yesterday? Messages disappear from the front page of the forum so fast.

Maybe I'm being stupid to expect an explanation or a few words of apology

That is the initial maintenance. Not why we could not log in afterward which is what I think OP is asking about.

To OP, after the performed the PC maintenance we could not log into the servers. While Zos did inform us they were working on it and when it was fixed they never told us what happened. However, it would seem to have involved the gateway server that handles the login, just a guess though. I doubt Zos will tell us what happened.

Cheers for the answers. It can be hard to find the posts the next day and the stickies become unstuck the moment the problem is gone

The problem is never gone. Just temporarily out of sight...

Does it really matter why? Its not like they did it purpose or we could have done anything about if we did or it would have gotten fixed faster if they told everyone.

We have removed several posts that were not adding anything constructive to the thread. While the title of the thread can certainly remind us of a famous song we felt it was best to keep the thread focused on when the OP was looking for.
