So the game has been down all day for a simple reboot that was not planned (we still got the weekly downtime next tuesday).

The team may do better than simply say sorry, as example we would all welcome some little gift, consider free crowns or things like research scrolls, or 1-2 free skill points etc .... You may as well decide to distribute some of those crates that the kity distribute here and there.

Post-scriptum : Modern servers have 100% uptime, they are patched live with modern modular software design, we are not expecting that for a game but if proper testing is done on a toy server reboot and patching should not take longer than a few minutes. Hardware upgrades can also be done while running the service, but we don t expect that, but harware updates should not be frequent. Last it seen to me obvious that downtime should be planned.

Honestly if it's towards fixing the lag I could careless if they took the game down for a year, I wouldn't even ask for a non combat pet.

ZOS doesn't even compensate ESO+ subscribers for considerably longer downtimes.

Lag will be the same, most probably.
And no they don't compensate for downtime.
And yes 5 star profile users will contest your post every time with the same phrases ;)

Just out of curiosity, has there ever been a time in ESO's history where any sort of compensation was given?

I'm not sure if i remember correctly, but wasn't there a free week of eso+ when the "big" server problems happened like a year ago? I think at elsweyr launch?

Yes, but its typically when something special was missed. For example, events have been extended several times and there was a big Steam outage during a free crate weekend that saw everyone get a couple free crates.

Compensation for mere extended maintenance? I don't recall that happening, ever.

that wasn't as compensation, it was a planned promotion to get more players into the game so the servers would screw up even more.

It might have even been the thing that caused the big server issues back then.

I would be so happy if they would do that, till this day, for years i've not gotten a reasonable explenation as to why it isn't already the case.

They did give out those free race change tokens when they overhauled the racials a while back. But beyond that and event extensions (also due to extended maints), nothing else comes to mind...

I'd take transparency and actual discussion from the Devs with its playerbase over a gift but I get what you're saying.

I'm not bothered about a free gift, but I don't see this as 'entitlement' either. Not when one server is clearly being prioritised over the other and we all pay the same for our ESO+. If a customer was served their meal and you didn't get yours so you complained, would that be classed as being 'entitled'? Again, I don't expect 'compensation' (if only because I know we'd never get it), but it would be nice if the team were clearer about what was going on and why only the EU server is affected, AGAIN.

if a customer orders a meal in a diner with hardly any customers, they will get served faster (na server-less population). if a customer orders in a super busy diner (eu server with double the pop) with too many customers to keep up with, they will get poor service. the difference: customers of dining get refunds as there is no fine print that says sales are final.(read the agreement you acknowledge when you play eso)No mmo will give refunds/comp for their services.

Yep, and change their maintenance schedules/timing for EU.

That would be nice but people managing the game are probably in the US and even on the west coast. You can get people to work at night but usually the working hour is way more expansive.

You're telling me that this multi million dollar company refuses to pay someone a night shift so that their thousands of EU costumers can enjoy the game during daytime? Shows how much they care about us.
