How do you even enjoy Cyrodiil?

I don't even consider Cyrodiil "content" anymore. It's just a monthly transmute crystal farm for me and nothing more. I love PvP and I take my time and resources to make builds but I can't even test them, literally nothing works most of the time. It's not a fun experience, it's not even an experience. Most of the time I just see two zergs light attacking or ulting each other, I can't even have a proper fight, I just spam light attacks randomly into the zerg. I can't really believe that there are people actually playing it for fun. When I want to PvP, I just queue for BGs (Hope they bring back group queue). Trying to play Cyrodiil is the most insulting experience ever and I think there shouldn't be any PvP-only players who subscribe.

I love pvp to I jump into cyrodiil every now and then but I mainly play in imperial city and bgs now both is a lot of fun and no lag.

It hasn't worked in years, thinking it has is fooling yourself and giving ZOS too much credit. The simple answer is you don't, there's a reason ESO's "actual" pvp population is so tiny. The vast majority of us gave up and moved on, and a large majority of the few left would do so in a heartbeat for something similar and new.

Cyrodiil PVP performance is bad right now... no doubt. I still find I can have pockets of fun in Cyrodiil PVP though! It's very hard in the main CP Campaign.. even when low pop it always seems laggy & buggy in there.. but occasionally there are moments of smoothness. The other campaigns are always less laggy but they don't entirely escape the woes of bad server performance & in my timezone, are often very low pop.Still, occasionally there is some fun to be had!

That said, I have not been subbed for a while now. The reason I unsubbed was partially the bad server performance, but mostly the fact my friends no longer play & so my own game time in ESO is reduced.

I look for a campaign with 3 bars tops and check it out. If it sucks, I am out. Or I stick around with friends and drink and ***/moan/complain/joke about how awful the game is

I haven't enjoyed it since ZOS made stam necro and stam warden top dog and anything else crap. I have enjoyed it even less this patch which is the most unbalanced patch ever, caters even more to stam necro and stam warden, has gear that completely carries people (upgraded sellistrix, balorgh, venomous smite, etc. - literally most of these proc sets can carry you so much you wish you were back in One Tamriel).

It's sad, and ultimately disappointing that the dev team decided to take this direction and IGNORE input, since they supposedly read it according to the director's own words.

But don't worry, at least with the way Cyrodiil is now, anyone can win by slotting the right gear. I know it's true because I even alt-tab on streamers in the middle of battle and still win with one hand.

Absolutely pathetic balance.

As for performance, lol. Do not get me started on that, and esp. started on what happens when you encounter a ballgroup wearing Hiti. Please...

Cyrodiil is fine as long as you lay solo and are just there for the dailies or treasure maps. Others wise lag and skill firing lapses will eat you alive.

Play Nightblade. Stay sneaky, stay away from brawls. Try to pick off anyone you see alone. Attempt to take Towns. If you see a legit Zerg heading somewhere, know that Lag and Loading Screens follow them.

If you're a good player, then it's pretty fun getting to a Keep defense right when the enemy players start Ramming the front gate. You have a window between them getting there and the gate reaching 49% health where you can respawn. Cloak > Go through Gate > Gank a player on Ram > Get back through Gate. Repeat. Or if you want to be annoying, instead of attacking players, just set their Ram on fire while invisible.

Without ball groups (yes they cause the most of the lag we experience, you can simply tell when a ball group starts to run) Cyrodiil isn't that bad, there are some delays but nothing we couldn't get along. Even with 3xpoplock it can be okish.

Ball groups are the main offender when it goes to Cyrodiil performance degradation. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against ball groups as a way of playing, but I have everything against their impact on servers performance.


If Cyrodiil doesn't work, my next choice is IC as I prefer "open world" PvP because BGs though very fun are to heavily dependent on group while I prefer solo PvP.

Cryodiil was fantastic from 2015-2018, and there was double the population allowed in then. So it can work and has worked, but something changed a year plus ago and they, apparently, just quit trying to fix anything PvP related.

How I’m enjoying Cyrodiil? Slowly, with plenty of hot tea and patience. Sometimes it’s not enough, so I’m rage quitting.
But when it works. Oh, dear. Can still get the chills thinking of large scale fights, going on for hours, using every single siege, potion, have no resources left and an enemy that gets crushed in those last nail biting seconds.

Cyrodiil has been my home for years, its been great, but enough is enough.
I let my ESO+ lapse yesterday something i never thought i would do but i can no longer justify financially supporting something that is not fit for purpose.

I will continue in there but at least when i get frustrated with the awful lag and bugs it wont be costing me anything other than time.

Any serious pvp guilds have disbanded or fractured, and all thats left are the zerg guilds or smalll man groups that log in monthly to get their crystals. IC is where its at for me. Make me wish they'd add a leader board with monthly rewards for that instead.

IC leader board with golden IC Item rewards for the top ten of each faction would be a cool thing. Just wondering what would be rated.

This, guildmates and I are just waiting on a new mmo, and its a ways off yet but are gone as soon as it lands.

On EU, the top CP and Only No-CP campaigns have queues on prime time. It blows my mind honestly that people will suffer through that complete ***-show in their spare time. Crystals or no, I just can’t do it.

I've just got back after leaving a year ago because I was so sick of it. It still looks like pretty much the same buggy mess it was when I left (I honestly can't believe they've not managed to fix basic bugs and lags in Cyro yet and not sure they ever will), but I missed playing with DC so I'm back for a bit. I missed my Guar too.

I think one of the main things is not to take it too seriously, and don't play for several hours most days if it's lagging and you're not enjoying it, you'll drive yourself mad doing that.

And if the zerg thing is doing your head in you can always find smaller groups around hitting different places where you'll probably be able to enjoy it more without the mega lag you get with zergs. That can often be done by just checking the map/chat and seeing what players from your alliance are attacking. You'll need a fast mount though usually to get there quick enough.

Oh and if you're playing while an event is on where people are going into Cyro to do dailies, etc, don't expect to have much luck with avoiding lag, we're usually stuck with it when events are on until they're done.

I do not. Maybe if i were in a guild with some people to get along...maybe. But still, after been in some big pugs groups it feels sooo boring. Zerg vs zerg. If you are melee good luck surviving 2m unless you are a beast in pvp. If you try that solo is just....anoying. Going back to combat tack forever due the distances are huge.

I prefer far more BGs and starting to like the sensacion of danger at Imperial city.

Ok looking back at this I guess you're not so bothered about going back in there anyway.

And none of us are PVP-only. We have to leave every so often for food/potions.

The same. Just tier1 at each alt with Gladiator Rucksack if possible to do fast (the best atm is 9 res quest) and relog to pve

I generally despise PvP for a number of reasons that I won't go into right now, but I do enjoy the sieges in Cyodiil. When it's not lagging so bad that none of my skills work anyway.

Nobody is forced to do any content they don't want to.

what can i say ? pvp just turns into a slow motion crap game and this is rly TRUE i mean u cant do anything even when u have 80 ping against a group. The most of the time u get desynced from a noob player they alway spaming bow attaks. The next problem is that aiming is bugged as hell in big fights. I dont know what they did but PLEASE REVERTING THIS BLOCK CANCELING CHANGES!!!! This was never a problem but NOW the game is the most of the time unplayable since they changed this.
