Alliance Change Tokens Make no Sense

maybe it's just me but what is the point? So the new campaign just started on PC. I did go into the campaign with just 1 EP toon and locked it. The rest of my EP toons it says to pay 100k AP to abandon campaign. I haven't played any of my EP toons other than one toon on the main campaign. It shouldn't be locking your whole faction but just that one character. Because now when you use a alliance change token it literally still tells you that you have to wait until that campaign is done before you can switch. So why waste your time with an alliance change token. If you have diffrent toons on different factions? Only good thing I can see from it is not having access to that specific toon.

Basically if I lock it with one toon and use a token to change faction. And pay the 100k on each toon to get them out of main campaign i should be able to access Gray host or any locked campaign at that with the new toon after paying AP as well as using a alliance change token.

The idea behind is to allow players to adapt to changes over time. For example, you are part of alliance 1 and have freinds there, you play together, now years later most of your friends are allience 2 and you would like to play with them. Thats the typical use case.

My main character was EP. A guild I joined likes to run sewers on AD. Made sense for me to switch so I could join them.

It's so people can transfer "orphans" over to a faction where they may have found a PvP guild.

I mean if you didn't want to grind out a new toon I understand. But what I Don't understand or like is the use of spending 100k AP to abandon a campaign when if i locked into gray host i can just go play black reach with ANY of my toons. So the use of paying 100k ap a toon to back them out of a campaign should ALLOW you after using a alliance change token to then enter gray host as you wiped your progress from all other toons. There's a penalty for that which is spending the AP. But the fact that after doing all of that you still have to wait until the campaign is over. I find that stupid!

yeah but thing is if you FIND a pvp guild on a another faction you still can't play with them in the main campaign if you have locked yourself out after the 5 minute marker. I just don't like how they make you pay the 100k to abandon campaign and not allow you to use that new changed faction toon in the main campaign.

it's about choosing a side...if you want to...

NA server: 4 DC, 3 EP, 3 AD...I've been playing all 3 factions for years...rotate alliances through gray host every 4 months...

I don't group up or participate in zone chat...

EU server: 7 blue now...had made 1 yellow and 1 red necromancer...never got to play them in "full" pvp play...

switched them and now all 7 play in grey host...I group up all the time and participate a bunch in zone chat...

Please no... This will lead to FoTM shifts every patch meaning you will see 80% of players running same class.
    Say no to Toxic Casuals!
I am doing my best, but I am not a native speaker, sorry.

They could make it a one off thing. I don't mind. Leveling alts is not my thing.
