Heavy attack sets - broken

When a set mentions heavy attack or fully charged heavy attack, they no longer buff/apply to Power Overload heavy attack as they previously did. I believe this is a bug which occurred between PTS 6.0.0 - 6.0.4.

As of 6.0.0 the bug was not present.
As of 6.0.4 and live, the bug is now present.

I believe this is a bug as the direction for heavy attack sets and Power Overload has been indicated below:

Taken from patch notes 5.3.x: "Overload: Fixed an issue where toggling this ability would dismount you, and updated many sets to properly key off Overload and its morphs where they stated they required Heavy Attacks."

This is also backed up by further heavy attack set interaction in patch notes 6.0.5: "Grace of Gloom: This set now properly works with Overload and morphs’ Heavy Attacks." This could possibly the cause, who knows?

Affected sets I have tested so far:

Undaunted Unweaver
Undaunted Infiltrator
Sergeant Mail
Sunderflame
Queens Elegance
Destructive Mage
Knightslayer
Doylemish

Please can this be resolved.

Thank you.

    It is clearly unintended.

The overload damage you are referring to was nerfed a while back -25% damage and the range got gutted.

And if you’re taking 22k damage from one overload tick that says more about your defence than an OP skill/build. But having played the glass cannon you refer to I’m going to assume you inflated your numbers there or took 3 ticks.

than u basicly say delete nb if u think that 22k overload is my fault
isnt 22k like i said cause is the only screenshoot i safed and like u see its an bg so in cp it was up to 22k which is cleary op af6Sr0KOn.png

First of all you’re stood in a VMA lightning blockade/wall of elements. Which buffs heavy attack damage. This would also mean you were likely set off-balance. Which is another MASSIVE buff to heavy attack damage.

That screenshot has just proven my point entirely. Your defence and play has inflated the damage caused to you hugely!

IMHO they shouldn't buff every tick of lighting heavy channel either, those builds are whats broken.

So broken nobody ever ran it and had any success. The only exception is when people are dumb enough to stand in a charged (offbalance) VMA lightning blockade. That’s where any damage comes from.

Again I used to play the glass cannon from a few patches ago, that was OP I can admit that.

But in its current state overload heavy needs help from sets to become remotely considered when attempting to make a build that utilises it.

a massive buff called 8% even if i wouldnt have this ,,massive buff"
it would still be 17132 dmg which is still way to much FOR ONE DAMN HIT
and even if u now say its cause of a blockade... vma buff is about 1,5k dmg for light atack
even if i wouldnt have this 2 things on me w would guess it would be still about ~15k for 1tick
and u now u can hold this longer than 1tick so everything on this heavy about ~8k truly op

(and even if it would be only cause of me standing in a blockade... i got this at this time in cyro every 2min and u cant say me that i always are in blockades cause i leave them as fast as possible)

and btw u dont even know if he had vma staff

Ok let’s educate you a little on some ins and outs of some sets and skills.

You mention 8% yes that minor vulnerability, I wasn’t referring to that.

VMA lightning staff adds 1.4k’ish base tooltip (pre-modifiers) to all heavy attacks on players stood in wall of elements. That’s a big buff!

Lightning blockade can set enemies off balanced, that’s buffs heavy attack damage by 70%! Yes, you read that right, 70%!

I can guarantee you the player was running VMA lightning staff which was likely charged for 100% chance of off balance. You cannot get super higher numbers without the modifiers I mention above.

Like I said I’ve ran a lot of overload builds not trying to sound condescending but I know what I’m taking about.

ok u have a point there than i should say nerf offbalance cause 70% is rediculous ?

ah and right now i calculated a bit and still if the hit is 18622 than its 170% dmg so if u would calculate how much it would be without these extra 70% it would still be 10954 which is still very high

It’s not that simple, there’s a lot of base damage modifiers which get amplified by everything afterwards. So it’s not a case of taking away a % unfortunately.
