Hello, I'm lvl 2 in vampire skill line which now NPCs will not talk to me. Any idea of where I can go to visit traders/NPCs etc that I can interact with? Eg the stable guy to buy riding skill ups.

Thanks in advance.

Vamps have a memorize ability in the vamp skill line. It is not a criminal act to use it on merchants, and it allows you to interact with them.

Of course, you can go to Coldharbour, and after you've done a few quests & delves, the Stablemaster will return. Nobody in Coldharbour cares if you're a criminal or monster.

It's not the Skill level that causes them to not talk to you. Its your Vampire Stage, which is governed by how much you feed. Each time you feed, you go up 1 Stage, up to Stage 4. in Vamp stage 4, NPCs won't talk to you unless you use the Mesmerize skill on them...which at level 2 in the Vamp Skill Line, you don't have yet. You'll need to wait until your stage goes down on its own (which takes like 4 hours), or drink a Purifying Bloody Mara to instantly go down one stage.

Or do what the previous poster suggested, and go to Coldharbour.

Not being grammar police but I think they mean Mesmerize skill. However, it is not a criminal act to memorize either.

    For further records;

Mesmerize is also rather bugged (not all NPCs can be Mesmerized). If you can't mesmerize an NPC, just port to Cyrodiil to get your mount training if Coldharbour isn't unlocked.

ok thanks for the replies. And yes I know it is the vamp skill line that prevents the interacting, at level 1 it is fine, 2 onwards they don't talk to you. All good will try coldhabour/cryodill.
    cheers.

It's not the skill line level that keeps you from interacting, it's the feeding stage mechanic. As others have posted, Stages aren't the same as the skill line level.

At Stages 1-3, you can freely talk with them. At Stage 4 (you'd have fed 3+ times to get there) the Justice System mechanic kicks in and most NPCs don't want to barter with you. It's even stated here at the Help article.
WHY CAN'T I INTERACT WITH CERTAIN NPCS AS A VAMPIRE?

If your Blood Curse is at Stage Four, many NPCs (including merchants) will recognize you as somebody afflicted by vampirism and will refuse to deal with you.

You can reduce your Vampire Stages, but you won't be able to reduce your skill line level.

ZOS really needs to put a note on the Mesmerize skill tooltip to let players know it can be used on merchants. Also maybe even a loading screen note saying this as well because we keep having threads like this popping up.

    Dont feed
Get cured, come back in 6 months and start over
get more skills and use the right one
buy 180days worth from the crown store

Given the current state, get cured and ignore it may be the 'right' option

Yes, let us not forget the silliness of the new Vampire staging.
You drink blood and go up in stage, even though your appearance is that of a more exsanguinated person.
Then you have to drink "Blood in a bottle", in order to "lose" a stage, for which your appearance looks more of someone who has more blood in their body...

Yeah, none of this makes sense.
Move along people, nothing to see here.
