Wolf Mount - Single Delve Bosses & Drop Rate - What a huge amount of 'dead time'

It's a huge amount of dead time waiting for a single delve boss to spawn, for example Klathzgars Centurion, im on my 6th attempt and already had enough, surely the drop rate can be higher for single specific delve bosses or change to many in the zone, it's literally doing nothing but standing about ....

Spawn timer is apx 9-11 minutes, guy with me on 12th attempt, nearly two hours doing nothing..

gave up at 2 hours apx waiting for drop, considering there are another 5-6 individual bosses, with the same drop rate I guess I don't want it that much

For me farming Darkshade Caverns over and over again is much more painful.

At least your actually doing something, not literally just standing around, remember the days when we could not change trait's and how many farming runs were needed, horrible I agree but less boring for me compared to the above, it's just a pure time sink imo, unless you have the RNG Gods on your side.

The boss is guaranteed to spawn if you go there on a character that hasn't completed the delve yet just fyi.

Appreciate that, but with the drop rate on RNG , maybe on 1st or 15th you would have to be really lucky

I agree that it’s a pain, it would be nice if there was at least some attempt to tailor spawn rate to demand (but I have no idea how that could be done in a fair, unexploitable way).

However, much more galling is the crappy drop rate from low level mobs... this is exacerbated by idiot players who feel they need to [snip] off by dropping all their damage on every little critter, thereby depriving everyone else of even the chance of loot. And obviously, with a very low drop rate, they will continue to cheat their fellow players over and over again.

Although it took a while, I liked the attitude I found round the boss drop in Coldharbour... People were grouping up to ensure as many players as possible got loot drops and congratulating those who finally did get the drop... the grind might be a pain in the [snip], but you can make it more enjoyable for yourself and those around you if you put in the effort.

Good luck to everyone chasing the drops..

When I'm farming a delve boss, it helps to sometimes do a circuit of the delve between kills to break up the monotony. I try to keep it short so I don't miss a respawn. If I still don't get what I'm after on like the fourth kill or so, I go do something else for a bit and come back to it later.

I'm a very patient person, even by pre-Twitter standards. But I didn't sign in to stand around.

I know that pain. Took me 6 tries to get the lead from Thinks-in-Gears. Had to kill 17 bosses in Razak's Wheel. At least there you can move from boss to boss. A friend and I killed 15+ bosses in the upper Imperial City and didn't get the lead for the Malacath Band. Haven't even started farming dungeons for leads yet. Oy vey.

That’s why I’ve just been light attacking wolf and wasp mobs for that nifty drum furnishing in Betnikh. Tedious but it lets others get a shot in too.

I don't farm delve or world bosses for more than 30 min. If the lead doesn't drop in that time I stop and return the next day. I also run dungeons for leads only once per day. There are too much enjoyable things to do to waste my time on non-dropping ***.

As far, this way I got every lead I was after within 4 days.

I've always thought delve bosses spawn when a player enters the dungeon. That's why sometimes they spawn immediately after being killed, to the point that killing them again just drops some gold and no loot because it's in time-out.

This makes the dungeons that now have groups of players parked at the boss difficult to finish for new players, because by the time they make their way through the dungeon, their guaranteed spawn is long gone...

If several players are camping a boss, group with them. That way even if you don't hit the boss you can loot.

It's pure RNG. For instance, I got the leads from delve in 2-4 attempts each, wich is correct.

However, Volenfell made me cry tears of blood.

heres my advice, if the lead doesnt drop in 2 kills go do something else and come back later. ive farmed bosses for hours sometimes trying to get leads and i have never once gotten one to drop if it didnt drop in the first 2 attempts

I have four leads in 4-player dungeons and the drop rate is low enough to encourage me to change my opinion of Antiquities.

I'm lucky enough to play on a computer with two monitors. So I do something else between spawns, and camping bosses hasn't been too miserable.

I'm also in no rush for specific items.

It's spawns about 5 seconds before a player enters the room, in that small amount of time, the 2-7 people farming the boss have already killed it, so now it's waiting 5-10 minutes of waiting.

Most delve bosses respawn in almost exactly 5 mins, unless it needs to spawn sooner. All of the ones that I have farmed for leads, so far, included.

I love lightning staff for these situations. I know I would otherwise yeet mobs out of existence, so I mostly use lightning heavies. You've got good range, so you've got a good chance, and you've engaged, but there's a delay in the payoff, so others have a good chance too.

The 'rule of three' is the way to go. If you don't get the drop in three spawns, go do something else for awhile. People like to say RNG is random, but something is very flawed with whatever program ZOS uses for RNG. Let that RNG reset and try again later.

Delve bosses don't respawn from any character entering the dungeon, only after either five minutes or if a character that hasn't done the dungeon yet approaches where the boss is. That's why you sometimes see the boss respawn so quickly; it's spawning for that new character, and because you'd killed it within that five-minute 'cooldown' period, the only loot you get is the gold and exp.
