I totally agree with the point about ZOS deleting threads about performance not really being in their own best interest. I hope that someone in the company sees this and sees past blind loyalty to understand that they are doing serious damage to their own interests and public image with this strategy.

When a streamer or content creator devotes time and energy to promoting a game for free, only to be totally shut down and their constructive feedback deleted out of hand with a "topic already exists" copy pasta, it creates an adversarial relationship between the company and the people they benefit from most.

How likely is it these people making them money with free promotion and content will simply quit the game after suffering such treatment? Sometimes people just need a FORUM to vent their legitimate concerns.

Whether or not this is TECHNICALLY censorship is to me largely irrelevant. It is the psychological perception of the act that is more important than what it is technically labeled and the impact of heavy handed public silencing should not be underestimated.

Kristofer is one of the most intelligent and really polite streamer, I love to watch his vids mainly because he's humble, when he dies or can't kill someone, all he does is "gg bro" not some childish comments and excuses.

He makes very good points in this video, but I'm afraid ZOS wilk try to close this thread.

I don't often watch videos on account of >90% being an ego-fest which this one, surprisingly, isn't.

I think actual relevant footage to the current gamestate would make a better point than stock footage that shows none of the issues.

Also you don't say much about what those specific issues actually are which results in:

I thought all of these folks were doing this crap for the "monetization". Even if they're not getting paid by the company, they're getting ads/etc, right? Nobody does anything for free anymore.

So @ZOS_GinaBruno this is one of the most popular streamers when it goes to ESO, does the dev team havve any answers, plans, anything regarding this issue? Or it's just like: if people are still playing, it isn't such a big problem after all!

I agree. I was curious to know what is point is, but other than "look at me do well" the video does not relate to the alleged point of the thread.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

God, I am so happy that a major streamer is calling them out on their censorship. More people need to be aware of it.

As a result, I've started dis-evangelizing this game. The silencing of opinions is sickening and really is making ZOS look even worse in the face of their surmountable issues. It's not like anyone's gonna see the edits blatantly made by ZOS and think they're innocent in the matter. It's not like deleting the 5000 threads is somehow going to make performance better.

@ZOS_GinaBruno I really hope you guys can internalize what this video is saying. No one likes to be silenced. I know I have personally written to you directly about this before. Well, now more visible people are saying it too. While I get it's not under your control, you can and should be the messenger for us and ensure that this is heard. You look over at Reddit, little moderation - no one's editing their posts and it largely stays positive. It's really simple at this point, improve player relations or lose customers.

Think of how much credence you'll gain by ensuring this thread isn't closed or moderated. Think of how much you'll lose if it is.

So this is another complaint about performance in PvP, incorporating footage that shows no performance issues, is that it? If the argument is that it was taken before Greymoor, why the heck not incorporate footage illustrating performance in Greymoor?

Then people complain that critical posts get deleted when actually all that happens is that polite, relevant, and constructive posts get retained while rude, irrelevant, and non-constructive ones get locked or deleted, along with totally unnecessary duplicate topics that just clutter up the forum. Sounds like textbook moderation on a private forum to me.

When everything is monetized for personal gain in a corrupt economy that encourages it, even requires it by a "hunger games" style squandering of potential in the hands of monopoly so the majority are left with little opportunity past the trendy click-baity money grab that has come of the modern internet, it is difficult to take ANYONE seriously.

Anyone who has been into jack’s stream or stepped foot into Cyrodiil this patch knows how bad it looks and feels. Maybe he could have used different footage? Truthfully I wasn’t watching the video just listening to the audio which is the more important bit.

Meanwhile, as streamers and 'influencers' increasingly rely on these tactics, stirring rage and controversy and click baiting self promotion, and receive tens of thousands of dollars of sponsorship from big companies, people like addon authors who arguably contribute far more to the value of the product, who silently soldier on without interest or time to devote to self promotion on the side, are continually ignored for DECADES by the BILLIONAIRE companies that profit off them, not even offered so much as an occasional pixel peanut.

Conclusion: This society values vanity above substance. Because this society is BROKEN.

People can say people are just 'doing what they have to do' but that is a lie. No one is required to be greedy. Or selfish.

It is not to say that no streamers or influencers generate value, because they do. I myself benefit from many good ones like Alcast for example, who makes a TON of helpful content, and he seems like a relatively humble and well-adjusted guy. But increasingly, that "value" is in the eye of the beholder, and what people are conditioned to value is rage-filled click-baity controversy stirring opportunism and self serving gaming of the system for personal gain.

Not to disparage the OP or the video which is not really an example of this, but I don't think you need to go far to find plenty.

Most people, of course, are just playing the game.

Those who watch streams are a very small subset of the players, and the streaming is done by an even smaller subset. I wouldn't personally judge society as a whole on either category.
