Population Cap Reduced in Cyrodiil?

Hello :)
It feels like the Population Cap was reduced in Cyrodiil. Queues were longer than usual, while the groups one is fighting inside Cyro actually felt smaller.

Anyone else felt the same?

I've noticed having a queue mid week that I normally dont and standard campaign being fuller. I could see where you could come to the conclusion, but it didnt seem to help performance if they did

People dedicate their life to Cyrodiil. There is people that deliberately log a character to one faction just to take up a spot and then they'll go somewhere on the map, where you don't (usually) find them or just stand in a keep and watch chat as a "spie". It sounds unbelievable, but i have actually encountered this myself. Especially spies very commonly.

So it is no surprise, that sometimes you feel ques are longer and groups smaller, altho it is still possible, that they have changed something. Don't really think they did, because it would be in the patch notes, right? But possible.

That is a hilarious level of pathetic and or dedication. But this is a mmo afterall.

Also, half the "spies" thing is rubbish. There's only a limited number of objectives. If red have dclaw and bruma, and have just taken bleakers and ales farm, guess where they're most likely going to be very soon!

They cut the population of cyrodiil in half with, I can't remember, was it Morrowind? Is was about that long ago. It seemed like it was part of a performance improvement attempt.

Probably players doing content in Cyro to farm antiquities leads causing queues.

Not that suddenly, doesn't seem likely.

Cyro definitely seems more dead than usual with way longer queues than usual.

Did you reduce the population cap in cyrodiil? @ZOS_GinaBruno

Don't overlook the players farming leads in Cyrodiil. They take up population cap space, but are only doing PvE activities.

That will probably settle down in the near future.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

ZoS should open more no CP campaigns these queues and prime time lag on PCEU at 2am is utterly ridiculous.

I haven’t seen pve’rs looking for leads yet. They are still fishing now and again. I’m always leaving them to their activity.

But sometimes in the outskirts one can find groups of players doing nothing. Or players riding in circles for hours and hours at home base, never contributing, and with names that more than indicate that they aren’t belonging to the faction

People crying about spies need to get over themselves. 1st there are too many variables to be successful at it. For example let’s say I’m part of the pact spying on The dominion, I call out to the reds, “20 yellows going to Sejanus”. While this might be true, it doesn’t compensate for potentiality. 20 more yellows could show up, or blues could pop up.

Not to mention objectives — people often complain about team purple, green, and orange and while I’m sure friends of opposite alliances might “team” together, there is also strategic reasons for them to work together, also there are logical convergence places where teaming will naturally occur.

Cyro Pop has been quietly reduced countless times, was originally 1800 (600v600v600). In the end, it’s nothing more than a bandaid proving things only get worse and ZOS are unable to improve performance.

Population usually more spread out than you think with some people doing their own thing individually without going to the big keep battles. I feel 60 might be a low estimate to a faction population cap, but pretty sure it's not more than 100.

But anyway cyro performance so [snip], that if even 60 overall across all faction turning up in a keep battle the server going to lag out heavily, which is one of the reason that many small group intentionally try to avoid going to these battles.

I generally always think that there are double the people what I see just many don't bother with bigger battles and rather do their own thing. If you want more accurate measure try to look at how many people converge on hammer, or how many people show up at the warlord turning in quest after a scroll run...

Either way, it is quite weird cause it really seems like battles are quite a bit smaller, queues are longer and there was no announcement from ZOS´ side..

ZOS reduced it for sure. When you get a 50 man queue to nocp Cyrodil at 2 AM you know something doesn't add up.

such a poor communication from zos. time for some changes. think i need to contact some popular big streamers/youtubers or magazines [snip] so they draw some attention for the lagfest like kristofer did.

Yeah I main ravenwatch and I was 80th in the queue last night 😂 I've never known that on a Monday night. I don't know why they wouldn't just say... Not that the reduced pop is helping. It is still unplayable until 1am.
