Freezing fighting Lich bosses

PS4: My game is freezing anytime a Lich enemy uses their anchor move. It’s the only time my game has frozen since Greymoor but it’s happening consistently:

Specific locations:
Telesubi Ruins (Bangkorai)
Village of the Lost (Coldharbour)

I can’t complete either area due to this issue.

It didn't happened to you pre-Greymoor?

Not to my knowledge. That being said, I can’t recall many Lich enemies early on when you start a new character.

I’ve narrowed it down a bit more... It’s happening every time I use the arctic blast healing spell near Lich enemies.

Making the game unplayable.

At least you've narrowed it down to a single spell...I narrowed down mine to "battling any dungeon enemy" at most :P

Still an issue after the latest patch. It’s ridiculous, I can’t finish like 4 areas now because I rely on using the warden healing spell.

I'm having the exact same problem in Telesubi Ruins, I haven't fought any other Lich's recently so I can't confirm if it's happening with all of them. I've tested several abilities as well but I haven't been able to narrow the cause down to a specific one but I'm not a warden so it's not a problem unique to arctic blast.

It's the last world boss I need to defeat and then I've cleared all Daggerfall locations so it's really annoying having that one location unfinished.

Though it's probably more annoying for the guy I was fighting them with, there was someone else trying to clear Telesubi as well and I kept freezing and having to restart leaving him to fight alone.

This happens to me in the Greenheart boss fight when he does a freezing attack. Every single time.

Keep posting. They've known about this for over a month probably and have done nothing. Won't even contact anyone. There are dozens if not hundreds of players from what I figure having this issue.

To get by this in the short term if you are overland, when it locks up, click on the screen and choose "close program". When you log back in, it will initially show you as being still logged in on the game. Keep clicking on the log in button and after a few tries it will let you back in. The Lich will be fully healed but you can now fight it and it will not lock up. Unfortunately, in dungeons, not only does this not seem to work, but half the time my character ends up dead.

Still happening, after another patch. Please fix this, it’s freezing basically vs any Lich enemy. Even Dolmen’s are impossible

I got a response from the customer support team that said my particular issue with the shade of naemon (a lich) will be fixed in the next patch. Here's to hoping that the issue will fix all lich bosses.

I also have the lich freeze issue, every lich every time, everywhere. Crypt of hearts II lichboss, nope, frozen. Telesubi with two lichbosses, frozen. Random vampire/lich spawns in the wilderness, frozen. In my case, I have a dragonknight tank and a dragonknight magica dps who both freeze within the first second or two of combat every time. My nightblade stamina dps however, not affected at all. That character is entirely immune to whatever this lich thing is. I take that character to the same bosses, no problem at all. This has been happening since the Greymore launch.

We have found a effective work around to the lich issue to be going into 3rd person for the fight.

For me the game is freezing during an anchor fight, in Graht wood against two dremora bosses, as a sorcerer it happen when i launch the storm atronach.

Thanks for the tip about playing in 3rd person for the fight against the Shade of Naemon and other Liches,really hope they will find a fix for this issue soon. Im playing this on PS4 and while i love the game this bug/glitch is very annoying,especially since it seems that every other time i go after a Dolmen there is a Lich that freezes my game...

From patch notes

Fixed an issue where engaging in combat with some Lich monsters could cause your game to lock up or crash.

It’s in the patch notes but it certainly hasn’t been fixed. Can’t get past the first boss in maelstrom arena who uses the same skull throwing ability the lich uses. Couldn’t get any arena skulls throughout the witches festival because of this
