is 2h weapon viable?

Hello i just got back into this game after many years and was wondering is 2h viable now for PVE? im just a casual player im not trying to do the most difficult stuff at end game i remember last i played just being spam told to go medium armor and duel wield and forget 2h but that's not how i want to play. so now im looking to start a fresh character what class would you guys recommend that best fits a 2h melee DPS build for PVE? also should i go 2h / bow? or are there other options out there?

It's viable outside of min/maxed vet trial groups, yes.

one thing i forgot to mention is i am looking to make a stam build so any suggestions for that with 2h?

2H/bow is nice on Necromancers because of their passive that gives you crit chance when your enemy is low health. I use Reverse Slash and Brawler on mine. Way better than Dual Wield for vMA in my experience

2H has been buffed considerably, and any class can use it. If you're worried about much harder content, you'll be fine as long as the REST of your build follows the current meta

2h is generally better/easier than dual wield especially for solo/arena play.

* the Brawler morph of Cleave increases your survivability a lot (grants a damage shield);
* the Executioner morph of Reverse Slash is fantastic finisher (400% vs <50%).

Group content: dual wield
Solo: 2h
PvP: 2h

Generally it is best to level both skilllines and keep multiple sets for different fights in your inventory.

Not entirely accurate. Even min-maxing score groups use 2H regularly on some encounters such as Hard Mode Lokkestiiz.

2h/bow stamcro hits over 90k dps, so yeah definetly viable.

2h is also probably the best pvp melee weapon.

Dual Wield and Bow... can't go wrong... Semi Meta....works well in pvp and pve...

You won't be the best but you wont be the worse.
