This post got locked because they considered it a "quitting thread"

https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/532513/feel-like-leaving-the-game-i-wish

Is that a hint that you assume I will have to quit because you will never even try to do any of the things I requested?

FYI, it was not a quitting thread it was a request for how to handle the game development.

There couldn't have possibly been a more depressing, or ugly response to my post from ZOS than to lock it and label it as a "quitting thread".

@ZOS_KageW - READ a post before you lock it.

If you won't even read the stuff we post, how are we supposed to even fantasize that you might actually DO anything we request?

The firsts sentence does state they are considering giving up.

Regardless, it is better to PM the mod who took the action and ask them about it than create a thread complaining about it as they tend to close this type of thread.

"considering giving up" is a "goodbye thread"?

i was writing a reply just as they closed it. I was gonna say that you can select which types of buffs show up on the screen and to chill and not get worked up over such little things. We all know you were bluffing. Anyone who would quit over that stuff doesn't like the game anyway. Honestly I think they did read it but thought it was too over the top that they needed a reason to close it. You would have gotten roasted anyway

PM the mod as I suggested. Ask them.

The forums have pretty clearly stated rules and I'm so thankful that we don't have to deal with endless negative threads that command the devs to cater to you and bring other people down.

Some of the ideas in those threads are worth saying and could be constructive, so it might be worth making a feedback post when you feel ready.

Side note, making threads to contest thread closures is against the forum rules: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/60843/community-rules

Pm the mod if you have questions about moderation. (In my limited experience of one message it actually can clarify things.)

Just PM the moderator and ask them why. They left a message in the thread they closed. Click on their name. On the next page click on "Message" that will be in the upper right-hand corner.

I checked your locked thread, it was well written in easily readable form and informative with actual words instead of some letter combo language, you pointed clearly your frustrations with some issues and suggested some solutions also. Not surprised at all anymore, such constructive posts aren't needed on this forum, this forum has very little to do with the actual playing of the ESO game itself anymore.

Today is the 15 months celebration day of my completely stuck Xbox EU account, I've been also just rewarded my first official forum warning, as a long term customer I'm extremely pleased with all this. Good job and keep up the amazing work you do for your customers. Best community and definitely the most satisfied playerbase in the whole gaming industry!

Ummm... Why am I not surprised it worked that way? It's censure not moderation.

"Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game." - @AlexanderDeLarge

They have replied to my PMs before. I have also seen them change previous actions due to private discussions. Regardless, the mods have pretty much closed every thread that argues about forum moderation. It is the prerogative of Zos to do so as this is a private forum and freedom of speech does not carry over into private forums.

Right or wrong, asking the mod via pm may actually get the thing sorted out or at least give you an explanation.

Discussing moderator actions on forum is against community rules and will result only more moderator actions.

Moderation decision aside, you could have easily avoided getting your thread locked, by just focusing on the things you would like to be changed. Trying to add weight to your concerns by stating these are things you consider quitting over is what makes the thread about you and in that sense, even if it is not technically a quitting thread, it's not that far off.
Please stop making requests for game features. ZOS have enough bad ideas as it is!

I red your thread and after the introdution I can understand the mod.
Repost your complete thread again - without your initial sentence and it should be a good thread and without the chance to close it within forum rules...

I have noticed that, in general, the admins are aggressive with locking threads. I guess they are alright with an authoritarian approach to communicating with their customers. It has certainly led to a particular apathy on my part in using this forums, or ever achieving a productive conversation with other players or devs.
