Why do I still have to roll to be able to harvest nodes or NPCs I've killed, half the time?

This is nuts just terribad QC at this point of the game's development and after all these updates and fixes over the years.

I've had this problem ever since Update 25. And sometimes rolling doesn't fix it, either.

Oh, it happens on nightblades and necros too! I've just opted to consider it my character getting said node with some pizzazz.

That's a weird edgecase. I haven't seen that at all on my characters. (Just noting that it's not a universal thing, so it's some kind of edgecase.)

I have seen it on all my different class characters, but I use weapon swap instead to clear it. Also happens opening doors, etc... not just looting.

I only have to Roll a few times. And its only if I have to fight to get to the node.

ZOS maintains "In Combat" for several seconds after the last mob dies, not sure why.

The only class I don't play is Dragon Knight.

It doesn't *only* happen when harvesting a node right after a fight, so it's not caused by actual combat alone.

I'm open to discussion that *something* is triggering the server to act as if I *was* recently in combat.

I also frequently can't mount a horse after turning in writs at places like Rawl'kha and Summerset, too, until I run all the way back to the crafting area writ boards.
No combat (or looting) involved there, either.

Most of the time my weapon swap is disabled. I can open inventory and use consumables, but can't unslot weapons or armor, use doors, harvest nodes, or loot corpses. Most of the time I can swing the weapon, but not use skills. And occasionally I can't even swing, I just run around with my weapon raised..... and that's all I can do. I have to press ESC and log out. And of course, when I log back in the corpses (along with my event tickets (why the hell do they make you loot them in some events and just get them from killing / questing in others)) and daily boxes and whatever that are gone forever.

That's annoying. You'll be in combat until the npc's stop chasing you. On the same note if the wolves and imps etc, are gonna chase me for 5 miles then i should at least be able to kick their butts. But instead as soon as you do damage they turn around and go back home.

I have to roll from time to time on various classes-- Sorcerer, Nightblade, Warden, etc. I have at least one character of each class, but most of my characters don't get played with except maybe to do daily crafting writs. The three I'm most active on are the three classes mentioned above, and they all run into this issue, so I doubt character class has any bearing on it.

Another related problem I've been running into is that when I'm trying to harvest a node, or loot a container or corpse, I'll press E to open it up and R to take everything, but apparently due to a momentary increase in lag the node or container or corpse will not open right away, such that the R causes my Ultimate to fire, and then the node or container or corpse will finally open.

For me it's weapon swapping to harvest or loot, but having to roll so I can actually use my skills again.

I'm having the same roll to loot issue, and have been for about a month now.

I'm also getting the "suddenly I'm in a fight but I'm not able to attack the thing attacking me at all" problem, where I have to flee the area and mess around until I can actually use my attacks again. This sucks when I'm finally prepped for a world boss, blow ult...and then I can't do anything else. Sword won't swing, stave won't fire magic, half of my techniques don't work, if I'm lucky one of my random AoEs will go off and that will do some damage but most of the time I have to keep running around until the system allows me to attack again. I have yet to find a consistent fix for it.

is not equal to your position on the server side)

Occasionally I have this problem too.
Usually just doing a weapon swap fixes the problem for me.

Haven't tried that yet. The reason I've been using roll is because it was suggested by a ZOS employee in one of these threads.
