Game Mode for TVs Effect Question

About 2 months ago I decided to take an ESO break to buy The Show on PS4 (baseball). After a few weeks of playing (poorly) I also bought a new TV with “game mode”. The reduction in latency had the effect of changing my normal hits from weak opposite field singles to now having the ability to pull the ball and hit for power. While it wasn’t such a huge effect where it was effectively playing the game for me, it absolutely had a quantifiable positive effect.

Anyway, I think I’m gonna fire up ESO on my XBox again to play Greymoor when it comes out on Wednesday so I wanted to see if anyone else has found “game mode” on your TV to be helpful with ESO. My guess is that it would be most evident in PVP and trials type combat situations. Thanks in advance.

You just found out the wheel invention, congrats.

PS look for a 120hz output option if your TV and Console support it.

When ESO first came out on PC I would PVP on a non-gaming laptop on low settings with a track pad instead of a mouse.

I like being late to the party 🤣

In all seriousness though, I’ve been a top 100 PVPer many times on XBox in the past (years back though) who can animation cancel. Are you saying that “game mode” makes THAT MUCH of a noticeable difference?

you ought to always have game mode on if you are playing games on your tv. also turn off any dynamic contrast, digital noise filter setting, or edge enhancement, as all those introduce a ton of lag in the image on the tv display.

Yeah, my last TV just didn’t have it as an option. My new one kicks it on as soon as I turn on my XBox.
