Is there a quick work around for the ground texture bug?

As title says, is there a quick workaround other than logout/login to cure the bug where the ground texture isn't loaded and displaying? This bug i see pretty much all the time in western skyrim only, and nearly always after a wayshrine is used. So many new bugs since greymoor was released, but this one i find is the one that probably is most annoying. It was even on a more recent livestream with the devs present on it, and they seemed to pay attention to it at the time, yet bug still remains even after latest patch release.

Sadly not, the /reloadui has become a much more constant friend since greymoor too.

Don't know if this is related but after the release of Greymoor I noticed some missing textures (rocks and logs mostly).
This is on PC btw. I think it had something to do with cached shaders, because after removing 'ShaderCache.cooked' from 'Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\Live' and restarting the game (which then takes quite long) the missing textures appeared.

Usually for me it goes away after a few minutes. But since Greymoor, I've had it be a bit more constant.
Seeing as my machine hasn't changed, I would guess something changed on the game's side. Not sure there's anything we can do, except pump more money into the game and hope they invest it well (HA).

Really? I've seen this bug pop up off and on since launch, so it's been around for quite a while. It is a lot less frequent than it was back then though, so progress was made. Except it seems like it made a comeback in Greymoor for some reason.

Sometimes, but not always, going to a different zone helps, but I don't recall /reloadui ever working for this.

Saw it a lot around Elsweyr release, it eventually settled down for me. I found changing zones sometimes fixed it (leave/return).

I had it happen once and just logged out and took a break and it was gone when I came back. More worried about invincible Draugr now. The quest givers that have no voiceover in their dialogue is no biggie because I just read the text.

Happened to me yesterday. Had to relog to get rid of it. The only other place I've noticed it sometimes is in Cyro.

Only noticed in Blackreach; will try the shaders cache delete!

Only had this issue crop up today in Western Skyrim (when I finally started the main questline - of course! lol) I've fully explored both Western Skyrim and Blackreach and hadn't had an issue with this until today. The untextured ground is persistent. It never loads, reloadui doesn't fix it, logging out and back in did fix it for my immediate area but travelling outside that and more untextured ground.

I HAVE had this issue elsewhere in the game BUT the texture will "pop-in" if I wait at most 30sec. (I need a new hard drive!) It never loading is a new issue for me.

    Trying the Shaders Cache thing.

Edit: Deleting the Shader Cache fixed the problem for a few hours, but then it started again. Since it seems to show up after using a wayshrine within the zone I started porting to another zone if the texture was wrong after I ported within a zone (port wayshrine to wayshrine within one zone - check if texture/ground looks right, if yes I go about my day but if no I port to another zone and then back)

Don't think you will ever see a fix, since we've had this bug in Cyrodiil for years now

I have a brand new card, that/Greymoor launch is when it started for me. I get these faded out ground textures all the time now, never saw it before. Everything else looks fine, just faded out pathways, etc... it looks like they are covered in fog.

FYI, what happens is that the low resolution terrain and the high resolution terrain are both rendered at the same time. The low resolution terrain is less detailed both in terms of the number of polygons and the texture resolution, and it should only be used in distant views and as a temporary placeholder in close-up views until the high resolution terrain loads in. Having both visible at the same time is wrong and looks terrible as they clip through each other. This bug has appeared on and off since launch, and it seems to be triggered by wayshrine teleportations back and forth across a zone.

This is something that should simply not happen, and it should be perfectly possible to stop it from happening by proper coding on the client side. The long standing bug with characters running on top of their mounts is also a problem with client side code. Those two animations should simply never be played together.

When it happens, I just relog. I must have sent in a dozen bug reports about it over the years, but it's still there.

Yes, I have had this problem for 3 pc builds now. Happened to me just today, outside Skregs place.

    At times, I am getting:
    1. Character cannot go forward and just keeps what ever movement they were doing while not going anywhere.
    2. Character appear to be knee deep (or higher) in some sort of pea soup or pudding, but can still move around.
    3. Finding items sunk halfway into the floor, ground.

It's a daily occurance for me now in Greymoor, sometimes happens in other zones when there's an event on and there's a lot of people around

It used to happen to me all the time in Daggerfall, almost always at specific locations, such as after crossing the little bridge between the lumbermill and the marketplace, headed up the hill to the smithy and bank. Just before the stables, at about the lamppost there would be a clearly demarked transition from fully-rendered to blurry terrain, and as soon as I hit that line I'd freeze in place, still running or riding like mad but stuck in place. After 15 seconds or so I'd be able to move again.

But that hasn't happened to me for months now. I've seen blurry terrain in other locations from time to time, but I haven't been stuck in place in a long time. Do people get stuck when they run into the blurry terrain, or is it purely visual?

For me personally this started with Morrowind release, it seems like installer do not load (and verify) some textures. Using verify/repair does nothing, still lack of the same textures for each char.
At PTS I had no problems at all.

    Enjoy beauty of Western Skyrim:

I don't think this is a bug. I remember when they were first showing off Skyrim on ESO Live and saying that would be fixed. Its worse in Skyrim but I've occasionally had it when lag is bad in other areas and Skyrim seems to suffer worse. I just ignore it unless its affecting what I'm doing. In my opinion its just related to the age of the game and them pushing the limits of the graphical systems. But I don't know since I don't make games.

I suspect it's the same as the black silhouettes that occur when you log into a heavily populated area like Daggerfall or Vulkhel Guard (or in this case Western Skyrim after launch). The program is scaling the display back in order not to delay entry into the world. It doesn't always work, hence some people report long loading screens especially if they have a lot of add-ons that involve loading data when logging in or zoning. Just play on, unless it's a common occurrence in which case you might want to look at your system with particular reference to your graphics card, graphics driver (hint: the latest isn't always the optimum) and your memory.
