I have an interesting topic regarding this subject to talk about this week. If you've done the Ghost Hunter quest in Blackreach, you run into this vampire called Bruik who was hired by the overseer of the town to protect miners from the increasing amounts of vampires entering Blackreach.
This guy doesn't seem to be a part of the same Greymoor clan because that wouldn't make sense why he was fending off his own clan from the place. What I found interesting though is that he used the player mist-form ability AS WELL as the bat-swarm gap closer we've seen many times in Greymoor so far. Which I've yet to see a Greymoor clan vampire use.
So I ask this: Why can't we get this ability as well, then? Even if this guy was indeed a part of the Greymoor clan, then why can he still just use the same mist form we can as players yet we can't have the bat swarm dash? A bat swarm dash isn't a unique thing and could easily be shared with lamae's clan due to its affinity for bats. Just as the mist-form ability apparently isn't unique to Lamae's clan either.
At the end of the day, once again, I say vampire players deserve a gap closer of some kind.
It was in the old kit and it should be in the new kit. I find it absolutely CRAZY that they copied literally every mechanic from the old kit over into the new one, aside from the gap closer. Like what? Funny thing is the old kit didn't even need a gap closer since it wasn't really melee based, but now that they made the skill line melee focused and in-need of mobility, they decide to take out the gap closer? What kind of logic is that?
I propose either working the gap-closer into one of the ultimate morphs (Could throw it onto swarming Scion, since it already has bats and would fit well there or throw it onto perfect scion, which would make it worth taking if it kept the remove-weakness effect too), removing blood frenzy for a 'bat' skill. This skill would start off as a bat-swarm DoT that needs a target. Basically it'd cause bats to swarm around 1 enemy and hurt just them. One of the morphs could be the charge-up bat swarm dash, the other morph could be the one that summons the huge cloud of bats that follows a target and damages in a big AoE, or working the bat-swarm dash into Eviscerate OR the blood-mist morph option.
Also for those that are worried about the gap closer "taking away" the unique-ness of Nightblade's tp or Sorc's streak: The dash requires a charge-up and I'd argue an interesting way to code this for the ability that would make it ultra-unique compared to either of these skills, would be that the longer the player charges it up the farther they dash. The charge up can be interrupted.
