I think what he means is that, if you got stuck in combat without Snow Treaders on, you'd at least be able to sprint. With them, you can't.Daviiid_ESO wrote: »

I should have worded that a bit differently.Absolutely, I just wish they addressed it in a way that actually examined the problem rather than giving a band-aid fix. That said I’m now farming a second pair so I don’t have to swap them around.
When one piece of gear makes or breaks your playstyle, it might be a good indicator that it's OP and may be getting nerfed in the future.
Hmm I feel like I have said this many times before...

interestingly I have not really noticed this. the gap close snare is super short, and I KNOW I have had NB's just spam it on me once or twice, but gap closers in general are not really run anymore, as you tend to just not have room on your bar and it is simply enough to root spam / snare people to death.
even streak breaks distance faster then you can close in most cases (or you get the poor *** who managed to stick to the streaking sorc and is now in a mile away 1v1 with a magsorc LOL)
I end up saving so much in resources not spaming snare removal, and being able to slot rally again has been nice, was able to walk my way out of a failed keep capture just healing and walking (occasionally rolling) and saw the bombards try to stop me more then once.
At higher MMR ranges in PC-NA Battlegrounds, there are numerous Bombard spammers, a handful of Ice Staff users (which aren't nearly as much of a problem if you're Nord), and some Mag DKs that use Talons quite a bit. In some games you'd be better off switching out the Snow Treaders, but in others it's hard to even be functional without them on some Magicka setups. You can't afford to dodge roll out of enough of the roots for it to matter, and it just isn't practical to spend half of your GCDs on RAT or Mist Form, especially when you're actually being focused.tsaescishoeshiner wrote: »I'm really surprised to see this because they have been removing snares across the board, from many class and weapon skill lines, for over a year. There was a big purge a while ago, and they also changed how snares work. A 10% snare used to reduce your total movement speed by 10% (as in, if you were going at 150% movement speed, a 20% snare would make you go at 120% speed), but it was nerfed to reduce your base movement speed (so if you were at 150% movement speed, a 20% snare brings you down to 130%)
Snow-treaders removes your ability to sprint, which does save Stamina, but sprint is a huge movement speed boost, especially for medium armor players.
I definitely feel like I get snared way more in Cyrodiil than battlegrounds. Last battleground match, I don't recall being snared often, and maybe died while snared just once or twice. But I was also running Steed Stone and Ring of the Wild Hunt, so snares might have been less noticeable
