Weapon confusion

Hi low level player here pre-veteeran.
Simple question iis there any difference between weapons swords, axes, maces, daggers ? 1-handed or 2-handed ?
I crafted a few and the in-game stats seems all the same.
Thanks

The weapons themselves have the same stats but each skill line has a Passive that once unlocked gives the different types special bonuses. See the Heavy Weapons passive under the 2 Handed skill line and Twin Blade and Blunt under Dual Wield.

To elaborate on above because i have time....The difference is only if you put skill points into relevant passive skills in the weapon skill lines (one hand and shield, 2hander, dual wield)

    Sword and Shield:
If you use any of the one handed weapons with a shield then the passives from sword and shield line are active. None of the sword and shield passives are impacted by the weapon type so a mace will be exactly the same as a dagger for example.

    Dual wield:
If you are dual wielding 2x 1hand weapons and have skill points into the passive 'twin blade ans blunt' in the dual wield skill line then each different type of weapon (mace, sword, dagger, axe) has its own benefits. The most prefered to use are dagger (crit chance bonus) and axe (bleed proc bonus).

    2hander:
If you use a 2hand weapon AND you put skill points into the passive 'Heavy weapons' then the two hand weapon you use (Maul/hammer, greatsword, battleaxe) will have thier own benefit. Maul has increased physical armour penetration, greatsword has increased base weapon damage, battleaxe can proc a bleed.

Again... these differences ONLY come into play when you put skill points into the aforementioned passive skills and are irrelevant with sword and shield.

    Hope that is clear.
