Is it just me or is Lyris Titanborn a ***!?

She'll say something like "I'm going to talk to this guy over here, you go across the map clear a dungeon and collect this thing no one has ever found!". Then you do this supposedly impossible task and she is just like "are you done *** about!?"

If she can actually be bothered to help, she'll be light attacking one mob whilst you kill ten of them and help her finish off the mudcrab she has been hitting for 10 minutes.
Then she'll say something like "what took you so long!?"

Get *** Lyris 🤬😂

I can get on board and even empathise with a lot of the other characters, but Lyris is a ***!!! I have skipped a lot of dialogue in my time playing this game, but decided to really get into Greymoor given PvP is still broken and I got my antiquities.

Anyone else agree?

Today she would be classified as having ADHD or some kind of disorder, punching people and such. I really don't like her, I frankly dislike all of these guys except Cadwell. He's a jolly good old fellow that I really like. Sai Sahan is sufferable too, but I can hardly stand the rest of them.

It's a bit laughable that she's supposed to be a fighter, yet in Icereach she skips around fights and threatens those witches like a real keyboard warrior from a safe distance!

My favorite NPC above all, is Caillaoife in Bloodroot Forge! If I could marry an NPC, I would be running to Bloodroot Forge to propose to her! "Rumble rumble, crash and tumble! Fly away, fly away!" Would probably be her answer though. LOL

Lyris is a tank who thinks she's a DD.

And I don't think I'd ever hate a character voiced by Jennifer Hale, unless the character was SUPPOSED to be evil. And perhaps not even then; Dark Bastila Shan was pretty hot ...

I like Caldwell a lot, I don't know caillaoife is though. I will have to go to bloodroot forge and have a word!

I agree with your thoughts on Lyris... She is all puff and no pastry! She talks *** to bosses and then leaves you to fight them🤬

She is also a fake tank... Rolls up to the dungeon with a 2h. If she did find herself in the group finder she would be kicked on the first group of mobs!

I don't know these other women you speak of, but am willing to trust that the voice is normally attached to a likeable person 👍

    Lyris is bae.

    Nobody doesn't like Cadwell.

Abnur Tharn is kind of a ***, but gets bonus points for putting the good of Tamriel above everything else while having to constantly kill his power hungry relatives.

Sai Sahan needs to take the stick outta his ass.

Varen can go straigt to hell for causing the main conflict of the base game.

I had somewhat similar thoughts about Lyris as I was doing parts of the Main Quest on my newest PC EU character, except I wasn't calling her any gender-based derogatory names or whatever. Rather, the two of us would be exploring some location looking for a way out, or looking for her gear, etc., and I would stop to loot any nearby containers while she would run off to fight any nearby enemies. After I finished with my looting I would go mop up the enemies for her. Or we'd both be attacked and I would finish off my attackers PDQ, then I'd have to run over to finish off her attackers as well.

After repeating this scenario numerous times, I started saying things like, "Lyris, what are you doing taking on those enemies all by yourself?" and "Lyris, why did you run off to fight those enemies while I was looting those containers and wasn't there to save you? Girl, don't you know you need to stick by my side so I can keep you safe?"

Okay, "girl" is a gender-based derogatory name in that context. But if my companion had been a guy I'd have said "boy." And I said it affectionately, not antagonistically. My character is an old Nord man, so Lyris is young enough to be his daughter.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

I was thinking that she is much more aggressive in this expansion, making references to raging and hurting people, killing things, and generally being bossy.

Her personality is that of a domineering man. If they gave that script to a male character, you would think he was condescending and aggro.

Sigh.... she can order me about any time she likes

Besides, she reminds me of my wife. The first time I played the game I had this strange feeling of déjà vu, the two of them are so alike it was positively spooky. Get rid of the scar and change the hair to chestnut and that’s literally the woman I married 😇

The I look at it, it explains my dreadful RNG, after all I think I’ve used up all my lifetime supply of luck in one go anyway LOL

Lots of men aren't strong-minded themselves to handle having a strong-minded woman around w/o getting run over by her.

I married one, and I'm as stubborn as she is, but she knows how to meet me halfway, too.

Lyris doesn't bother me at all.

After the main quest in which the Emperor's bodyguard can't tank or DPS to save her or my life, I expect it.

Not that the others are better.
Tharn has the light attack weave down, but his skill rotation sucks.
Sai Sahan needs a bow backbar if he's going to get with the DPS meta.

The last really helpful NPCs I recall were in Summerset. The Psijics had good crowd control and the Golden Knight had a great synergy.

But but...I like Lyris. I like it when she punches Abnur in the Main Quest. Lyris is a warrior, she has that kinda warrior attitude. It's Sai I never liked with his never ending moral attitude, such a honorable goodie goodie..yawn.

I always liked Abnur's sharp wit and Cadwell....well, everyone likes Cadwell!

While we are at voice overs, the german speaker for Tharn is the same guy that voices Thanos while Mannimarco is voiced by the Vin Diesel speaker. It really gives them a lot of charisma, even more than in the english version if you ask me.

Turns a kinda-jerk into someone one could listen to all day.

Nontheless, Lyris comes accross as a huge jerk.

I have always found her mildly amusing tbh.

At first glance you would think she is supposed to be the incarnation of all things female strength and independence but mostly, she is just annoying af and not particularly skilled at anything.

I also agree with the other comment here about her daddy issues, lol.

Mind you, I am a woman so I had some higher hopes for her character development but I would frankly rather hang with Caldwell or any of the gits from the Undaunted gang any day of the week and twice on Sunday... :D

Seems to be the quest design in general. I don't care for it. "Go do X, I'll do Y, let's meet there." We can all see it's just a way to seperate us from the npc. Why do we need to be seperated from every A to B step? Just have them follow along, or not be there at all. We never see them move, or feel the weight of whatever *** excuse they're using to matter in the grand scheme. Great example is meeting Lyris before and after getting into Greymoor keep. Or you get passed around like a child at a family gathering "Go with X, so they can spout exposition, I'll go with Y, we'll meet there." It would be much better if you weren't constantly being held by the hand from place to place, or at the very least if you as the player had agency. It would be easy to change the design so that you give the orders, and that the npcs wait on you, or follow you because you need it (or not at all, we don't need to see them before and after, and during every quest).
