The title of this thread, which I pulled from a video on YouTube, summarizes the state of affairs pretty well. It is indeed a great patch, only overshadowed by the baffling server issues in PvP, which in turn are only overshadowed by ZOS' lackluster response.

PVP is unplayable in ESO, though awesome (gameplay wise). Sad but true.

And I dont think it's EVER gonna be fixed.

It's not. Game has been this way for as long as I can remember. And their performance patch made performance worse from what I hear.

How can you state that it's anyhow best patch, while many of fun mechanics have been removed years ago. This game puts too much limitations when you look at it in a bigger timeframe. There is too many builds, playstayles and skills we can't use no more. If, those will make a comeback and tanking in PVP will be constantly getting a hit, then we can talk about the actually good patches.

Greymoore was a step in a good direction but it's a nothing in comparison to 1.5, 1.6, Orsinium and One Tamriel was. That is stated purely from the quality of gameplay perspective.

great analysis. The guy doesn't seem hyperbolic. I hope Zenimax takes critiques like this seriously

@ZOS_GinaBruno would ZOS like to comment?

I know PvP is probably not the team's main focus. But we really care :)

    Thanks!

I'm mainly a PvEer so I can't really comment on previous patches, but it is true that server lag and de-sync ruins PvP.
I'm slowly starting to get bored with PvE since I've done almost all of the content so I'm trying out PvP and find it really fun when everything actually works semi-decently. The massive lag, the de-sync, skills not working, ending up dead because I can't break free...all of this ruins PvP for me and stops me from doing more of it.

I really wish that performance in PvP will improve.

another video of how disgusting pvp is. How do you have 2k stam regen and 1k mag regen together with all that defense and not mention damage? are enemies really this potato? why i never find these kind of people? only stamina is able to 1vX?

What? He literally runs all damage sets.
Sustain is not that hard to get if you know how to build.
My current stamplar build has 6.8k wpd fully buffed and over 2k regen.
    It's easily doable.
Also he is not tanky just uses LOS and speed to his advantage.

Lol. People have been asking for pvp to be fixed for ages now.

    Nothing will change.

As a console player, the best of ESO gameplay began in Orsinium and lasted until Homestead. The PvP servers and Endgame PvE populations were flooded with players.

The game actually worked and our only complaint about game performance was for server lag during primetime in PvP. Nothing else. Back then we had all the typical “Mag Sorc vs Mag NB” threads and we discussed actual game balance. There was no such thing as hundreds of game performance complaint threads, a Zos game performance improvement plan, etc.

I think Greymoor did some good in terms of balance comparative to the past year... It’s shallow though because this “balance” is based around the homogenization of all classes. Game performance has become EVEN WORSE though so no, not even remotely close to the best patch imo. The gameplay is beyond broken. It seems the longer this goes on, the more easily people accept a continually degrading combat experience by setting their expectations lower, and lower, and lower.

I'm sorry, I can't help but remember vividly many ,many threads from when Orsinium was released, from console players with unloadable characters stuck in Wrothgar...

Big difference between a bug for them to fix, and then actual game performance.

All they have to do is fix the server performance and we'd be in the best patch ever.
We dont need a new patch, keep stuff the way it is just fix the server performance.

Kris' latest video, which touches on the censorship policy, is such a good coverage of what players are really feeling with Greymoor.

It's baffling that we are all wanting to play such a great patch, and spend all the money that comes with that, but can't even get a coordinated response on this problem. Compounded with today's EU /login server joint debacle, is sure to leave new players with an unfortunate view of what this game is.

To avoid having this post being viewed as non-constructive, here's a specific suggestion: please start by making a detailed post regarding this issue -- down to the specifics of why it is occurring and why it has not been resolved yet. No one is perfect, we all make mistakes, or cause regressions such as this one. We can all move forward once there's open dialog on the actual issues, and not having them shoved under the rug, wishing that they just go away.

I don't want to sound negative but I'll just go ahead and sound negative. This is ZOS, their motto is "We Don't Care", just look at any Zenimax game and you'll see its a company wide policy.
Complain all you like, the game still turns a profit without the need to cater to more demanding people like you or me, and this is why nothing will ever change.

I really like ESO's PvP gameplay, but the lag turns the game unplayable. It wasn't like this a few years ago, please fix the lag in Cyrodiil!

Also, can you avoid maintenance during the day?
