Is Antiquity-hunting alt-friendly?

I do not have Greymoor yet but I plan to get it in 3/4 months.

I have 18 characters on my account, and I do play all of them, just not all at once, naturally. At the moment I am playing with my magicka Warden and sometimes she gains leads to scry, which I cannot use. I am able to see those same leads on other characters' journals, so I assume that when I do get Greymoor, I can have an Antiquarian character who will use and scry those leads, while other characters will randlomly acquire new leads during their usual activities - is this correct?

Or is the character who gets a random golden lead the same one who'll need to follow it up?

So far I got golden leads from a world boss, a battleground, and a couple of normal dungeons. I know these will expire and I'm ok with that... but the character who is more antiquarian-like is also not the type to pursue those activities.

That's how I found it to work for me...

Alts find leads, antiquarian character goes and follows them up.

Yep. Anybody can get leads. You should have one actual Antiquarian who goes and digs them up, and it needs to be somebody very well traveled. E.g., there's digging to be done on Eyvea (sp?), so having done the Mages Guild quest line is important. There's digging to be done in Coldharbour north of the chasm. Etc.

I'm using my main to scry and dig, and I plan to use my alts to track down various leads. Like, the ones from treasure chests will be done by the character that's currently working on the "Loot 1000 chests" achievement.

Note that leads expire in 30 days, though so you will have to re-track some of those leads you are finding now if you wait a couple of months to get Greymoor.

    1. Leads found on any character are available to any of your characters to dig up; this will "use up" the lead, and you will need to acquire it again if you want to dig up that antiquity again (on any character).
    2. There isn't much benefit of levelling up the Antiquity skill lines on multiple characters, other than a) achievements and b) the Keen Eye passive for treasure chests (which can be very nice in dungeons or other dark locations, especially on Consoles).
    3. Leads expire (apparently, it's too early to tell if this is working as designed), so just ignore any leads that you find now before you get Greymoor, unless you want to track how and where you found them, so that it's a bit easier to get them again.

Not you have me wondering how Alt friendly this system is...

I know that Alts can level up the skill lines, but what about the purple leads that you get "for free" in each zone from excavating a blue lead? Are those first-character-only?

    What I was wondering...

If you get a Mythic like the Wild Hunt ring, is is character bound or account bound?

mythics are account bound and can be shared with chars through bank. also they can be enchanted and transmuted just like a normal item.
