New consoles/upgrades?

InRetrospect
Has anyone heard anything about this game and potentially crossing over to new gen/upgrading? As in, when we went from PS3 to PS4 certain games crossed the generational gap and you got a code where you could get the new gen version for free. If not will we at least be able to play this on the ps5? I know they’re doing backwards compatibility and I’m wondering if that includes games purchased via psn (I’m asking this for the Xbox players too so same thing for them with buying it on Xbox live?)

My guess is this game will follow the same path that FF and DCUO followed from the PS3 to the PS4 and that is both system can play the game at the same time. If you are playing on a PS5 you simply have improved visuals, similar to that of the PS4 Pro. I imagine the same can be applied to the XBox.

I don't think the backwards compatibility is that big an issue as your characters are saved on ZOS' end and not on the PS4. I'll probably rebuy the game when I get a PS5 as those backwards compatibility things are always tricky. When GTA V went from PS3 to PS4, there was vast improvement, your online stats and gear was saved on Rockstar's end (like it is with ESO), but there was a deadline Rockstar gave for PS3 users to where they would no longer support PS3. I could imagine the same happening here.
