I've done the round of green lead -> blue lead 32 times no, and did not get a purple lead as follow-up to the blue.

Are you level 5 in Scrying and did you put the required skill points into Antiquarian Insight? You need to be at 3/5.

You should get the purple lead automatically after you excavate your first blue in a zone. You can receive leads regardless of your level.

I am lvl 8 in both scrying and excavation. I have skill points in everything that is available (since I have lots of skill points over from all my questing). I have 4/5 in Antiquarian Insight.

I did not get a single purple lead while excavating in Artaeum. I've done 32 excavations so far. It always goes from green to blue and back to green.

I tried in Stros M'kai - no problem. Progression from green -> blue -> purple, then back to green again. Tried in Gold Cost. Green -> blue -> purple.
    Artaeum? No purple.

Interesting. For me, the purple treasure lead dropped reliably from the blue treasure dig (2 characters).
Out of curiosity, have you done the Queen's Decree quest in Summerset that grants access to Arteum, or did you just port to a guildmate/friend to get to the zone. I can't think of any other reason why you might not qualify, and even that is a stretch.

Note that you do NOT need to have Antiquarian insight 3/5 to GET the purple lead, just to actually scry it and dig it up.

I've done all Quests in Summerset (and beyond) incl. the Psijic Questline. The only stuff I'm missing is Shadowfen (because I don't like swamps) and the new stuff. So I've had access to Artaeum since Summerset came out... Oh well... I'll just level up the rest of the way somewhere else...

Thank you all for your suggestions and help! <3

I have now spent last evening in the Gold Coast and Reaper's March, where before I had purple leads dropping reliably from blue excavations. Not a single purple lead dropped. I did 6 excavations in GC and 16 in RM -> no purple leads dropped as a reward from completing blue leads.

I am now lvl 9 in both skills and have put skill points into everything available.

The purple drop is only guaranteed the first time you excavate a blue. That's why the grind guides say that once you hit L5 and can do purple leads you leave Arteum and do each zone once to get the maximum guaranteed experience (1 + 3 + 5 = 8 exp per zone). If you start with Alik'r and do each PVE zone in sequence you'll hit L7 around about Eastmarch.

I haven't received a purple lead in Artaem either. I have been scrying with 5 different characters. Some completed the Summerset quest when it first came out, some more recently. One is level 10 in scrying, one level 9, two Level 7, and one Level 6, now. They all have found the blue multiple times. It seems like I need to report a bug.

You get the purple lead only once per ACCOUNT.

If you have skilled the lines on another char already, you propably found this purple one that char.

So if you already thought on your first char doing it, it was a painful grind... then good luck with all following ones ^^

Is there a reason to have antiquities on more than one character?

To make treasure chests glow blue when you are near them. I haven't done a second skill up, I'm still working on finishing my main's Antiquities, but that's a much mentioned benefit.

I am on my second character with scrying and there are no purple leads in Artaeum. I am level 7 in scrying and excavation.

When did this change? I am on my third character and my first two had all the same leads on Artaeum, including purple. This character is only seeing green and blue on Artaeum. :( I am level 7 on scrying and excavation.

This was always the intended way, at Greymoor launch it was bugged and gave out purples indefinitely which was a bug (possibly exploit) and they fixed it in a weekly patch.
    That annoying dude on PC-EU.
