This happen to me yesterday. I have never tank before , switched (did damn many runs to get ebon, yolnakhriin an lord warden) to tank and decided to do vet pledges. Asked in guilds for group. First was vBS,then vCOA2 and finally lair of maarselok. I had no clue what dungeon it was, because i didnt make it even on normal...few hours later we completed it,but i tell you-i have never sweat and [Snip] so hard in this game since release. I know that there many much harder vet dlc dungeons, but it was enough for me for my first time. Every experience i had before-piece of cake, its definetly next level. Big thanks to my group. To be continiued.

Awww pugs are great....except when they're not.

Congratulations on your trial-by-[coa2]fire (et al) tank initiation - hope you continue to play and enjoy the role.

Grats mate... tanking can be challenging, but with a supportive group it’s really rewarding

    Good luck and have fun

    Sounds nice!

Tanking should not be sweating. Depending a bit on how you set your recoveries, it should be pretty much the contrary. Really.

Aaaalways remain ever soooo caaaalm on a tank. Just do YOUR thing, and nothing else. In normal non-DLC dungeons, you can help kill stuff and show off more, but when you are really needed - just have a Teflon mind, and focus those bosses and big baddies, and nothing else. If you have CC/pull tools, and not much else is happening, round up the trash for slaughter. There might be some places with special mechanics (Scalecaller and Bloodroot for example, shut those nasty poison/lava geysers!), but generally - focus bosses, and don't waste resources frantically stabbing and hacking Pierce and Heroic Slash, save it for blocking and whatever. Always keep an eye on timers of you and bosses, don't refresh until nearly ran out.

When people count on you, make sure they are right in doing so. So much depends on the tank when the **** hits the fan. If something goes wrong, be eeeeven more chill. Check that you have a defensive ultimate ready, otherwise build it up, use it -pop an immovable potion or ability (because in many dungeons, you will be interrupted all the time when you try to get your team up), and resurrect people. If possible, get the healer up first, taunt dangerous adds - and you will be able to get someone else up while healer keeps you alive.

Ice is traditionally a tank tool for reasons. Stay COOL. ;-)

    Welcome to tanking.

The most enjoyable role to play IMO.

Tank only for about a year now.

The "roles" are Vastly different from one another, I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)
It's just a shame that the more effort you put into tanking (buffing/debuffing, positioning, mitigation, hp) the more you have to rely on your group do get anything done outside of said dungeons. It feels kind of backwards to me from a "casual" gaming PoV. Most "casuals" don't wanna rely on other people to get anything done, so they run as DDs.
However, from a group PoV it makes perfect sense and can be extremely rewarding when you see the success the group can achieve thanks to you

    Here we go, part 2

Finally found some time yesterday for daily pledges. First two was vet Wayrest Sewers 1 and vet Blessed Crucible. Nothing to say about that. Interesting things started in ICP. in half way i noticed that all time before i was in DARKSTRIDE and in COWARDS GEAR sets, that as you know have nothing near tanking )
Strange thing - i even didnt feel that im in wrong items, maybe because it provide a lot of stamina for blocking? or maybe because i'm a noob tank and my reflexes remain from time when i was a dps, to roll dodge and avoid that red aoe zones. i still doin it automatically even when im tanking. how i noticed wrong items - there wasnt lord warden sphere. (for my first time i thought that it was enemy AOE and run away from that =)
