Why join the "alliance locked" campaign?

Why would anyone want to join the locked campaign? If you join it, you can ONLY enter cyro with chars of the same alliance right?

Also, what campaign is concidered as the most popular? Im thinking about moving all my chars to one faction and i would love some input on the subject as its confusing to me right now.

Faction Loyalty was a thing before you could make a character in any Alliance.

Having a campaign with Faction loyalty means the actions of your alliance in that campaign matter because you can't simply swap alliances to gain benefit of say Emperor buff or Keep/Scroll buffs whenever *** hits the fan.

Theres more history and chemistry imho.

The scoreboard matters more. The time investment is not wasted. Guilds cant simply rotate to faction A/B when C is under fire.


The only issue right now with faction locked pvp is not having faction locked chat. People still communicate via guilds that have mulitple alliances inside. So you can still cheat in a way and have 2 against 1 alliance fights that way.

On PCNA the faction locked campaign is the most popular so that should tell you something.

As far entering cyrodil. The lock only applies to that one campaign. You can still enter the no cp and the unlocked campaigns with whatever characters you want whenever you feel like it.

If you dont care about faction locks, why are you considering moving all your characters to one alliance?

People like faction locks because it prevents people from faction hopping to flip the map one color and farm AP, then switch to another faction and flip the map, rinse, repeat.

Dont know what server/platform you are on but on PCNA, Grey Host (the faction locked CP campaign) is the most popular.

Yeah, I think the OP sort of answered their own question.

I like faction lock because I want to play for the same team when I'm in a campaign, and I would like my allies and my opponents to do the same.

The faction locked campaign is the most popular solely because it's the most populated campaign. It's a feedback cycle. People don't want to move because there's nobody playing on other servers, because people don't want to move.

I can guarantee that if a number of the large guilds across all three alliances in the faction locked campaign moved to an unlocked campaign, taking a good portion of the population away, the population will split more evenly.
