Antiquities- can we farm multiples?

I am loving the Antiquities system! As a housing fanatic though, the ability to farm is important. Can we obtain multiples of things? Mythic gear, the furnishings, etc? I expect we will get multiples of things like the motifs, but will we have to go hunting on multiple characters? Is the limit for duplicate items tied to the individual character?example. If I get the lead for the stained glass window on character A. And I obtain the item and place it in my home, is there limit to how many Of them I can find? Can I get enough of the snowtreaders for all my characters to use Via one Character doing all the work?

this is an excellent question. I too am wondering the same. I am also wondering if more antiquities will be added in future updates or if whats in now is all there will ever be.

You can get multiple copies of most things — provided you get leads for them. (Only the basic green treasures are permanently scryable and don’t require more leads.)

The one big exception that I know of is the Dwarven Ebon Wolf. (Or is it Ebon Dwarven Wolf? It was both ways on the PTS.) You can only get each fragment of that once, since once you have them all it becomes a mount that’s added to your collections. There would be no point in digging all that up more than once. You can see each fragment has only 1 codex entry accordingly.

Mythic item fragments have 3 codex entries each, which means we can dig those up at least 3 times.

And yes, antiquities will be added to new zones as they’re released in the future, per this announcement: https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/58113

Has anyone filled their Codex yet on a Furnishing and been able to get it again on any character?

Yes, you can get multiple furnishings. The only one's that I think are limited are things like emotes, adornments, mounts, etc. Stuff that is one per account anyway. Also, I think the purple treasure that you unlock in each zone by digging up the blue treasure is one per character.

I guess it might be possible that you can dig up the mount again if you use another character, but you won't get anything out of it since you already have it. Someone's going to have to test that though.

The new siege pieces for PvP are repeatable ... assuming you completed the dig and get another lead for one.

There was unintended repeatable purple Inert Daedric Spellstone scrys in Eyevea ... but that was hotfixed at the end of last week.

Was nice gold though while it lasted ...

Yes you can have miltiple furnishings BUT you can only have one lead for them at a time, so if you get a lead for eg the guar statue you must follow up on it and ince you dig it up you can find the lead again.

What about the blue 'free' lead? is that repeatable?

I'm glad I found this question as I just hit 7 in S/E and excavated a ivory whale idol (from mammoths in Eastmarch) that I could now do. Since gold leads are a good hit of XP, I figured I'd farm another.

I killed enough mammoths that a lead for the mammoth skull that drops in The Rift!!! dropped off an Eastmarch mammoth. I never did get a lead for another ivory whale. I figured it was one-and-done.

Can we have multiple leads for one item? Or new lead won't drop until item is excavated?
What about mythic fragments? Say, I've got coral plating lead, dug it out, but don't have whole item and got coral plating lead again. What happens?

Yeah, the blue treasures are repeatable. You just gotta dig up the green one every time you want to do the blue one.

No, you can't have multiple leads for the same item. You can see this with the initial zone treasures. When you dig up the green one, a blue lead will drop. But you will not get a second blue treasure lead until you dig the first one up.

I'm not sure about the mythic fragments, but if I had to guess, I'd say that you must complete the mythic item before you can start digging up it's fragments again.

I've got (to see) multiple leads for one of the parts of the music box. What happens is...nothing. When I pick it up, the game doesn't acknowledge the lead.

I think once you get the full item, you might be able to pick another lead up, but until then, the lead you already have/ part you dug prevent you from getting the same lead again.

    Yes, this.

I have 4/5 Malacath Mythic item, I farmed another lead and it just didn't show up.

So you can get other leads, but they don't register.

Yes, [snip] when players grind through content that’s designed to be a side activity for most everyone else ... the reward value for repeating the same thing over and over declines.

I got two ivory whales up to now from mammoths/giants in Eastmarch and Rift. So, they are repeatable.

Yes you can only get the wolf once, but you get the leads multiple times, and then it will be "already in your collection"" you are supposed to get "Dwarven Horngrip 💛 Deshaan Engine Guardian Boss in Dark Shade Caverns 2" but I got "Dwarven Steam Conduit" that is supposed to spawn in Stonefalls Inner Sea Armature Delve Boss so I already had this lead and all the trouble in defeating the boss in DS2 was for zilch very tedious. It is you get a chance in getting the lead but like in a raffle not getting it is a 100% chance

I think the answer is - Yes.

I got 3x "Seat of the Snow Prince" so far.
    https://eso.mmo-fashion.com/seat-of-the-snow-prince/

Although, I think we can only have 1 lead for specific item at the time. So I got 1 lead, excavated the item, then over time got 2nd etc. As for the Mythic gear, I got only 1x of each, but in codex as far as I remember there are still 3x "messages" you get for excavating item from different NPCs (members of Antiquarians Circle in Solitude).

The only things you can excavate only once are the purple treasures from each zone (the ones worth 5K each). The rest, I think there is no limit to how many you can get. And remember - there is a hidden "timer" (1 month ?) for the lead to disappear if you do not excavate it.

Sadly, it's one per account. Only one character can benefit from those purples for faster leveling. The following characters are a much slower grind because you won't get that purple from each zone, but you don't really need the skill line on more than one character.

When levelling it, I actually think its faster to simply keep repeating the green>blue leads on Artaeum than go out and do green>blue>purple in all the zones.
While green>blue>purple gives more scrying/excavation xp on average per scry/excavation (9 every 3 vs 4 every 2 if only green>blue), I found it was actually slower rate of xp per time due to the increased travel and porting and load screens than when I was on Artaeum just doing green>blue. Obviously there are other benefits of going out and doing all the zones purple, like more gold, more interest and being a completionist, but if you only care about the fastest way then staying on Artaeum might be best (it is mind numbing after a while though).

Doing whatever till level 7/8 (don't remember if my 1st one was at lvl 8 already...) Then hit Hollow City in Coldharbour. pick flowers for the gold lead. it has a crazy high drop rate right now and is worth 10 points per. it's the fastest to farm points to get those last couple levels. if the scry shows up in a bad spot, simply abandon and descry. you don't lose the lead. and half the time you wind up with dig locations right at the moonlit walk wayshrine or right outside the west gate to the city. There is a lot of debate for what is quickest to get to 8, but once you hit it, Hollowcity is the way to go.
I expect that to be one of the drop rates they adjust Monday.

What happens is the game pops a text up on the top right of the screen that says something along the lines of being unable to pick up a duplicate lead. So the lead drops but then is destroyed when you pick it up if you already have the lead in your possession.

From my experience, if you are working on a Mythic item that's incomplete, a lead that you already dug up can drop again, but you won't be able to actually pick it up. You need to get the whole mythic item before you can start working on the second one.
