Rollback

The past twenty-four hours have been a bit of a bloodbath. With such a wide variety of ongoing problems, isn't it time now to admit defeat and roll back the system to its pre-maintenance state and work on fixing the update/Greymoor offline?

They probably should have done that with update 25 so I would say maybe they should here; but I bet they wont. Imagine if they made crown store sales over the past 24 hours. How do they handle that?

I've been defending greymoor, but there is no excuse for 3 maintenance with no fixes or even an announcement admitting the problem

As someone else pointed in another thread, ZOS is an american company, and an american company doesn't admit to an issue, because it opens them to being sued easier...

Still, rollback is a bad idea. Nothing here warrants a rollback, it warrants fixes. Now, maybe, just maybe, the idea of pushing a yearly agenda for a "massive" storyline and content update, two years in a row, wasn't the smartest idea. It's likely some of the code was outsourced, and and usual in that kind of situation, it was outsourced to the company that offered the lowest price. You get what you pay for...

    That's great, except that:

There was an announcement and acknowledgment of the problem, and today's maintenance seems to have fixed it right up.

The first time I logged in yesterday, there was no queue and I had a 15 minute load screen going into a dungeon, and then another one of the same duration when I left. It was taking an average of 5 minutes to fast travel to any of my houses. Later that evening, I had a queue that timed out, and when I relogged, I was in within about 45 seconds, with no abnormally long load screens. This morning, when I fired up the launcher, I got right in, and had no abnormally long load screens. This is after the maintenance today.

Currently both servers are far from peak load. But of course let's hope things are fixed globally, and everything will be ok in the evening.

Well, given that the issue wasn't load as much as it was something with the achievement system which caused them to apply the queue to curb the overload on it, I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that it's done. This is information available in the thread they created about this morning's maintenance, it's where I got the information from. There was an awful lot of communication on this yesterday/last night.

I want my characters to be able to sport a "I survived Greymoor on launch day!" T-shirt in game.

    Dead serious, btw.

I certainly would not want them to roll back. That would probably be a deal breaker for me. I am not seeing anything in my game, or even here on the forum, that warrants tossing in the towel instead of working to move forward.

There is typically a button you can press that will just do it for you.
