This is a joke at the expense of the community

How this game plays is just a huge joke and its hard to believe that ZOS have the hide to turn around and ask for more money, it is actually quite insulting that this game is still monetised at this point. Cyrodil is just unbearable, PvE is so incredibly littered with bugs that its like asking for a miracle to complete a no death on any actual difficult content and combat glitches are random, everywhere often not easily fixed and game breaking. Base game, ESO plus, pay to fastrack crown store items, race changes and the rest with now another “expansion”, there is no shortage of funds coming from the community for this game yet it seems the devs seem only interested in creating some new quests and selling you the new meta for cash, whilst doing nothing to actively improve performance and gameplay.

The occasional ambiguous “performance improvement” notes that do nothing to fix things and often worsen the already deteriorating gameplay on top not of even Mentioning the biggest, longest enduring glitches and bugs have become standard and are essentially expected. Most of my friends have quit and the few that have continued barely play, I can barely justify playing this game, let alone paying for ESO plus and a new expansion.

This forum is also littered with negative people who whine and complain about everything saying the game is full of bugs and is unplayable. It's not that bad. Its a huge game and there are bound to he bugs. They eventually get fixed based on level of importance. Like real life you need to support people and see the positives and not the negatives. Been playing this game for 4 years and runs decent for me. This is a complete over reaction. America needs more positively and kindness. Be a part of the solution. Negativity is the real joke. Sorry to be negative towards your negativity

The game can be fine. People could properly play before they shut it down for second maintenance.

I'm still waiting for those performance improvements from the roadmap last year. I came back when we had to redownload the game but that performance patch needed its own performance patch. I was having trouble logging in and with lag & crashes & input delays before Greymoor, thought this would be the patch for at least some fixes.

What are you on about, the game plays poorly and is getting worse. Its not like any aspect of the game is free either you pay for absolutely everything, like I don’t want to spend an entire day farming out lore books for mages guild or psijic order skill lines, fighters guild, undaunted, sky shards and on top charge money for a race change and soon an alliance change as if that requires any input from the devs Whatsoever.

how about some “positivity and kindness” from the studio by making ESO plus free until the game runs anywhere close to how its advertised and not charging the price of a new game for an “expansion” thats just another DLC with a new menu screen, not charging to buy skill lines Ive already completed, not charging for race changes and alliance changes, or does positively and kindness have to only come from the consumer to you?

Real question are you an actual player or a member of the forum moderating team?

It's hard to be "positive and kind" when the product you paid for isn't working and people attack you for daring to protest against your ill-treatment. I don't think it is malice on the part of the devs, just a combination of a rushed production timeline and (in this case) the coronavirus.

Maybe lower your expectations on patch days, and even lower when we're in a global pandemic.

If you consider leveling skill lines riveting gameplay then you probably are unaffected by the ridiculous lag and incredibly low frames as you struggle against those overworld mobs and collect flowers on your roleplaying build

Some people just love to complain and see the negative in most things.
FYI - There is no such thing as 'night capping' in a world wide MMO.
FYI - There was no paid Beta. When they launched the game the Beta was over, even if you don't think it was.
    FYI - It's B2P not F2P. There is a difference.
FYI - It doesn't take any player skill to mash keys or buttons in this game. The ones that stay alive longer have the better internet connection and speed.
FYI - The game is not broken, it still works. It just has 'bugs' that need to be fixed.
    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

Example: There were hundreds of Jedi and only two Sith in Star Wars. The Jedi wanted, "Balance in the Force" and they got it. Now there are only two Jedi and two Sith.

    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

Case in point. It's not asking too much for a product to be ready to go when they release it. I admit that we are in a pandemic and this led to a delay, but this sort of thing was an issue before COVID-19. I'm not excused from my job duties even when I work at home (it has hit my hours, but I still have a job), and neither is ZoS.

And I have donated to charities. I still want a game that works.

what exactly are you doing in game? chilling on a rock or just fishing?

pvp'ers cant play cyro, IC, or even duel in Tamerial without lag (almost 2 seconds delay in skills going off).
pve'ers are starting to experience the same lag in dungeons and trials.

this isn't just a handful of people "whining". it's literally thousands of players.

rp'ers are pretty much unaffected, because they could work in the lore of lag being something Molag Bal has placed on the world. =P

Some people are too optimistic. They think everything is fine when the house is burning down around them, and get VERY angry at you for pointing out the raging inferno around them because it shatters their comfortable little illusion.

While I agree that positivity is generally considered a good trait, it shouldn't come at the expense of the truth. Being happy about everything is no way to bring about needed change. Truth is, those who point out problems in the game do it a service, while those who say "everything's fine" when things are falling apart are doing the game a disservice. Call it whining, call it being a killjoy, call it whatever you want, you know that the devs have no incentive to fix anything if no one raises important issues.

I must add that this isn't a matter of day one lag or other immediate launch problems due to a new chapter. There have been serious lag issues, game balance issues, and host of problems for many months completely apart from launch day slowdowns.

As long as some of us keep buying dlcs/ expansions and whatever
ZOS is forcefeeding us neglecting every plea for betterment of the eqquipment they use and/or
performance improvement, I really don't think that we have an excuse to moan about.
We are pampering them like babies after a pooh.
Stop supporting them and let us see improvements.

Few bugs get priority unless they’re Crown Store related. ESO servers have dramatically degraded and ZOS ignores PTS feedback. We are talking about a video game that’s selling $200+ crown gem mounts while the new chapter launch is an utter disaster.

Look, everyone here loves ESO and no one here was negative from the get go. You might not know but years ago there was nothing like this on the forums. This massive amount of threads and new accounts created all aimed specifically at calling out ESO’s poor decisions over the years and particularly game performance in 2020 are very telling. That’s the community reaction to a game they care about slowing getting worse. Being truthful isn’t negativity lol.

And most people won’t bother coming to the forums to vent frustration. Like most games that no longer interest you, they just quit like many players in endgame PvE and PvP recently have been doing.

The problem with media is that it will always have some die-hard defenders who like absolutely everything in it and blindly think that the company which makes a media product can do no wrong and thus, any complaints made must be unjustified. I admit there is such a thing as complaining too much and that not every complaint is justified, but when a product isn't providing basic functionality, that can't be overlooked. And anyone who attacks those who point out that the product is broken is only making the problem worse.

Seriously, you're not a bad person for wanting a game that works.

One would think that if Zos has a multiple years Long history of completely botching launch days they would eventually start doing something to mitigate the usual disaster. Instead we are the villains for being annoyed at their repeated failure.

Am I like in some kind of parallel universe where these problems with eso don't really exist. Game runs smooth as butter for me; no latency lag, no fps lag, no ability delay, no crashes, not that many bugs i've noticed. I'm starting to wonder if something is wrong with yalls old pc's and slow internet.. I recommend getting off wifi and running a lan line, also recommend upgrading that potato. I'm having a completely different experience here, so I'm wondering if i'm playing a different game or what.

When did you last Play Cyrodiil?
When did you last enter vet Sunspire?
Why is Eso the only game I have any Problems in if it is my hardwares fault?
Why is my average ping in Eso 100+ if it is 30 max in other games?
Why do we have ability delays when ping is ok? Is that our Hardware too?

    (FTFY)

Seriously, if you are indeed not seeing any problems, good for you. My experience is very different from yours, and the problems are clearly not on the client side. They are on the server side, because they have been getting worse with each update and are strongly dependent on server load. The problems are most pronounced at prime time, in trials and in busy dungeon fights with lots of effects and synergies. I don't even show my virtual face in PvP, but my guild mates who are still trying are saying that Cyrodiil is pretty ridiculous these days. Questing and fishing is mostly fine, though. Mostly.

I'll start by saying I love playing this game and have invested a great deal of time since launch. I also live in Australia, so not only suffer 330+ latency at all times (worse in Cyro) but have to endure all maintenance at my prime time in the evenings when I get back from work. I'm still reasonably positive about the game, even though heaps of issues are unresolved over years, not just COVID.

However, it's really strange folks are defensive and dismissive when shoddy performance and lack of communication are rife!? I have a reasonably stressful job IRL and have to professionally deal with potential issues in a fair and equitable manner to ensure I retain my valuable customers and secure repeat business. The only real difference between my job and ESO, is that my customers have a choice. ESO is at the moment the only real viable option, but I will say with certainty that loyalty is earned, and not automatic. If ZOS continues to perform poorly and continue to disrespect it's customers, then they risk a backlash if an alternative comes on the scene. Shame, 'cos it really is a fantastic base and has been hugely entertaining over the years. Wake up ZOS - you really need to raise your 'game'
