Antiquity leads issue

Cannot get leads that are at the same level that I can "scry". All I get are leads that I cannot use.

This isn't a bug, it's by design. You will receive a blue lead for the zone when you successfully excavate a green lead. Once you do enough green leads, you will level up and be able to put skill points into the skill lines so that you can do more advanced leads.

You can do the green leads that you are provided with indefinitely. They do not expire. More advanced leads must be found each time you want to scry for them.

I was only able to do the initial green lead 3 times, and now it will not let me do it anymore. Getting leads that you cannot do is ok but really would like to get more that I can do.

Also wondering about the 30 day expiration on leads, as I seem to have gotten lots of gold leads, and if I cannot get to that level in 30 days they will disappear?

Are you aware that every zone in game has its own initial green lead? You have to be outside in that specific zone to scry for each.

Tried that they do not allow me to "scry" no matter what Zone I am in. I can do is look at the Codex for each lead which for all the ones at my level are blank.

I was all right for awhile
I could smile for a while
But I saw you last night
You held my hand so tight
As you stopped to say, "Hello"

    Oh, you wished me well
    But, you couldn't tell
That I'd been Scrying just by you
    Scrying just by you

    When you said, "So long"
    Left me standing all alone
    Alone and scrying, scrying
    Scrying, scrying

    It's hard to understand
But the touch of your hand
    Can start me scrying

I thought that I was over you
    But it's true, so true
    I need lead's even more
    Than I did before

But, Dear R.N.G, what can I do?
    For you don't love me
And I'll always be Scrying over you
    Scrying over you

    Yes, now you're gone
    And from this moment on
    I'll be Scrying, Scrying
    Scrying, scrying
    Yeah, scrying, scrying
    Over you

There appears to be some sort of bug with the antiquarian eye not always working. I also had that issue. You should be able to scry a green lead as many times as you want. To clarify, are you getting stuck at the part where you search for the dig site? If so, to get around the bug, you can just traverse the zone on the map to try to find the dig site on your own. Takes longer but is possible. That's what I did when it happened to me.

Unfortunately, yes they will be gone in 30 days if you don't use them. You can find them again though.

Is there a visible timer somewhere?

I tried to post this and in other forums - but there are issues with some gold leads. Not the digging part, but the actual scrying. They do drop - but when attempting to scry - they are nowhere listed to be scryed. My examples are from Southern Elsweyr and Auridon. I got 2 gold leads for furniture ( 1 from each zone) - and could not scry any. They do show in the list of antiquities, but the number of finds says zero (which is probably why they do not show in the scryable screen) - My question is - if we got the leads, why aren't they recognised by the system?

(I'm sure you already found the solution, but maybe somebody else needs it)
If you mean multi-part ones, they're displayed a bit weirdly - you need to hover your mouse over the part to see where the lead is.

I am working on getting all my characters to level 5 in Artaeum to qualify them to scry for advanced leads after activating the qualifying skill. Earlier characters would get the initial purple lead after excavating a blue, but now the purple lead that shows on the scryable list indicates it requires a lead regardless of how many blues I excavate. In other words, my characters no longer get that initial purple lead. Is the initial purple lead deactivated if any of my characters has previously used it?

The purple zone (treasure) lead is once per account.

That limitation really slows leveling for my other characters when they have only green and blue leads to scry unless they happen to find new purple leads.

I am completely stuck. I can search up to purple. I am in Summerset and finally got my last one and it gave a message that I can now look for the blue. However, when I try to go to any location it only gives me what I have discovered, in other words I don't get the eye again.
I go to options on the Antiquities Summerset and search
All - I get my the whole list
Show Completed - I get my whole list
Show in Progress - Empty - Because I completed it
Show not started - Only gold because I have completed the ones I have experience for

I can't scry anything now. I tried to go to another zone, Western Elsewhere and can't do anything there either. This appears to the a bug in the game. If there is no known fix I will report it to the the support team.

If you are on PC the Display Leads add-on is a vast improvement over the base game, it even has a listing of were to get the leads from.
