Is it fair not having any sort of compensation after all this downtime?

I'm not usually the kind of person to complain, and trust me, I understand that issues could and will always happen with a game like this.

But as a customer that paid for the expansion and pay ESO Plus monthly, having all this downtime is a problem. Is 7pm here in the UK and I haven't been able to play the whole day and probably won't be able to play today. I'm not getting any sort of compensation for my wasted subscription or for all the wasted time in loading character info.

This sucks, really. Rant over.

Can't demand compensation after knowingly paying for a broken product.

And at this point issues are to be expected and everyone who still keeps throwing money at this game is to blame. It really is your own fault.

It's pretty par for the course. Happens in plenty of games and there is no compensation. I mean I guess you could make an argument you lost a day of eso plus , so about $15 (us) divided by 30 days means you lost about $0.50 . You still have full access to expansion so you didn't lose anything there.

    Yes it is.

    First you agreed to it.

Second, even if it was down for the whole day, that’s only a 0.27% downtime

Is it incompetence at its finest and irritating af? 100%

And everyone at ZOS should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves

Every member of the team is working from home, perhaps caring for loved ones with Covid, perhaps feeling a tad off-colour themselves, but in any event trying to do remotely what is normally done as part of a team working together. They're doing their best in difficult circumstances to keep things going, and have managed to deliver a new Chapter only a few days behind schedule. If you think they should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves because you haven't been able to play for a few hours then fine, that's your prerogative. Personally I'd be thoroughly ashamed of myself if I felt that way.

I’m not sure it’s possible to be taken seriously when you open with “it’s not fair”. It immediately evokes a child throwing a tantrum or a teenager stomping off to slam the door, throwing a fit over something that is usually fair but not what they wanted.

Pretty use it's listed in the terms of use you agreed to, of course, after you read it carefully.
99% of the time, there is a disclaimer about not being able to guarantee up-time, but them trying their best to keep it as high as possible outside of planned maintenance. Unless you can proof the people from Zenimax are sitting at home laughing their ass of at everyone now being able to play, purposefully not fixing stuff, you don't have anything to stand on and it is, indeed, fair to not get compensation.

If you can proof this, feel free to try to claim your 20 cents. Make sure to write your letter a bit more mature tho.

Another gem, truly. They should be ashamed because they have let this game become a disaster by neglecting major issues for so long. Now when they decide to maybe do something corona happens. Too bad, it should have never come to this. Maybe some people are mad about maintenance, fine maybe they shouldn't be ashamed or embarrassed about that. But the way this game runs on pc eu? On console? For years? Its dreadful and cringy.

We actually agreed to and pay Zos to do downtime when it is needed and today there seemed to be an issue where it was needed. So compensation does not seem appropriate.

I don't care about compensation, it's just a video game, but it's a pain in the arse and seems to happen a hell of a lot, especially round patches, but that's to be expected, especially today, with all the new players Greymoor will bring...

It is not the amount of money many people feel they need to be compensated for. Its all the time we have lost last year because of either trash performance or lengthened downtimes. Secondly, a compensation is an acknowledgement that the paying customer is entitled to the service they were promised. And i think i speak for the majority of us when i say we dont need the money, but we want the days we lost back as ESO+ subscribers. Dont be so pathetic and try to downplay the aweful performance that ZOS has done for such a long time.

Any other game would have hours of queues for different servers or worlds for an expansion like this. One reason why I never picked up AAU, and I'm glad for that.

A mistake made them take down the game but logging in after an hour or two of uptime shouldn't be a big issue. If traffic causes log in issues I may take issue. At work so not sure how much of a problem that is.

Edit well stuck in a queue. Now that is a problem, my biggest draw to this game has been impacted. Hopefully this only for a day or two.

    [Quoted post has been removed.]

No I don't work for them, I'm retired and on the other side of the pond.

Like many others who don't do PvP or Trials, I don't recognise the problems that some players report having had for many years and despite which they're still here - at least, on the forum but in many cases doubtless also in the game despite them often claiming it to be "literally unplayable".

Indeed, their main complaint at the moment seems to be that the Chapter they have paid for isn't playable on patch day. Personally, I'm perfectly happy with the job ZOS are doing for me, or I wouldn't still be here. I do understand that isn't the case for everyone, but why those who feel that ZOS have dropped the ball for some time now are still playing the game, let alone buying the chapter they're all complaining about not being available to them I wouldn't begin to know. Perhaps they haven't bought it in which case I wonder if they were complaining earlier when they were nonetheless able to access it?

i hate this response, its to easy if you ask me.

Its not just about today, its about every time the server has been down. Over the past 3-4 years i've been playing that have been quite a few.and those 50 cents have been adding up.

I don't expect them to reimburse me with 50 cents. i expect them to extend my ESO+ time, they can determine the supposed downtime they awknowledge and reimburse me that time.

I don't want crowns, i don't want gold, i don't want money, all i want is them to extend my ESO+ time that i coulndn't use because of issues that were out of my control.

I agree with everyone saying that they DON'T have to do this. However its a small thing that hasn't been unheard off from the mmo's i've played.
Also its a way to show to their costumers that they care about them and respect the value of their money.
