Game design being as inconvenient as possible......

Does anyone else feel that this game has an inherent design flaw making it as inconvenient as possible to the player(s) ?

Are you talking about the performance problems, or convoluted game design?

Because if you're talking game design, don't play SWtOR unsubscribed. That one is full of inconveniences to convince you to pay. Much, much worse than just "I need more storage space/Crafting Bag" that we have here.

(meanwhile, I'm playing a new/old game I got on Steam sale - it's a port from console, and the mouse isn't used in any of the interface or menus. Every time you go to a menu / dialogue box / etc, you can only select & maneuver with the arrow keys. That's pretty inconvenient.)

Well the performance of this game was bad in console but now that I've moved to PC it is ....................lol! It was more aimed at the design not performance.

Rawl'kha and Mournhold are reasonably well designed as crafting centers with bank, guild vendors, outlaw's refuge and wayshrines all within quick reach.

otoh, the game design is centered around giving you stuff to do, and efficiency isn't part of that.
The more time you spend running from A to B to C, etc being occupied with busywork means you're spending less time eating up content at a fast pace, you take longer to use up the content, and you've been 'busy'.

You've successfully kept yourself distracted from real life, and you wont run out of stuff to do too quickly.
The problem with society these days is that no one drinks from the skulls of their enemies anymore.

Kind of does which is why the crafting bag is a thing, but when you think ahead the whole Greymoor expansion feels like an inconvenience. The debacle with the whole perfected weapons, the vampire rework including terrible abilities like Blood Frenzy, Antiquities being another layer of grind via minigame, new trial gear, list goes on and there are plenty of threads about it all.

If you mean a general philosophy of "create a problem, sell the solution", as applied to inventory space, riding lessons, skill line/skyshards grinding on alts, etc.? Yes. It's easy profit.

If you mean a general philosophy of "you can spend time or money to get X"? Yes. It's an MMO. Time or money is its lifeblood.

Instant gratification doesn't get players hooked or spending money. Most player inconveniences are working as intended.

LOL It is funny because they sell things for real money and label them "convenience."

OP really does not say anything that is helpful to Zos. I see some guess that OP is complaining about the layouts of some cities, especially services like crafting, banking, and more. In the end, we do not have a clue what they are talking about because they are not providing any real information.

So OP, serious request here. What is the design flaw that is not concerning performance you are talking about? I saw you have stated this is not about performance in your second post.

This is the ZOS company motto honestly

There are better ways to give you stuff to do besides running back and forth.
Take multi crafting items. That should've been emplimented a month after launch.
Take the arena in kvatch. Why wasn't that expanded upon and made into a daily duel between two players with a small rewarded for loser and a motif page and large reward for the winners?
There are so many better ways to eat up players time than going to a delve you've beaten 26 times to pick moon Flowers for Bogrul to earn 5 undaunted points.
    I'm just saying......

Look at mount upgrades. They're are 180 days worth of logging in and upgrading ( if you can't spend 100$ in crown store) to max out a mount............

Survey maps.........if I have 5 in my inventory ten why doesn't it just give me 5 times the normal 20 so I can do all five at one time.........

Huh, you don't mean to say that an MMO wants you to log in for 180 days or spend money? Who'da thunk it?!

All the rest of your examples are pretty much "ZOS, you should spend extra time and money coding or re-coding the game to my satisfaction."

Please, they don't care that you find the assorted busywork boring. Busywork is prevalent because new players find it all dreadfully exciting, many players will do it on occasion, and even burnt-out players will still drag themselves out to do busywork for event rewards. If the old busywork makes you cry with boredom, try the Brand New busywork with Greymoor that has Brand New Rewards!

    Or don't.
They don't care what you as an individual do or don't do.
As long as most of the playerbase goes along with the current game design, and they do seem to once we step away from the fog of forum negativity, ZOS is going to continue the formula that works to keep the most players engaged.

ZOS doesn't have to make ESO great.
ZOS just has to make it good enough to keep enough players and money rolling in to meet their quarterly goals.
