Given I'm not seeing Zenimax do anything for a Werewolf Week, pick the best Werewolf to ever live.

Werewolves have always had their place in the unique history of Elder Scrolls. Most of the main titles allowed you to become one. Though Wereboar has been an option. Werewolf has been included the most as playable.
Unlike vampires where there is many examples of npcs that are friendly there isn't as many with Werewolves. However the options here will include Werewolves From Skyrim and some from Eso some are hostile ones.

Songamdir I'm putting him at the first of the list as he is the Pack Master to Hircines Official Pack. So hes like an ultimate Alpha Werewolf. We get to interact with him with the Werewolf Quest in Eso.

Vykosa the Ascendant- a Prototype werewolf that I believe got abandoned by Hircine because he didn't like how it worked and thus made her an Hare to be Hunted. Its clear Vykosa the Ascendant is based on Lamae and her and the manbeasts in humaniod form have this unique more bestial appearance. I would say the manbeasts work closer to how vampires do. Given Vykosa the Ascendant would have to be centuries old that means like a vampire they don't age. So you can say they are more of a immortal form of lycanthrope.

Aela the Huntress- if you played Skyrim you would know who this is she is a member of the companions.

Farkas is also a member of the companions guild.

Skjor is the one that introduces you to the Circle in Skyrim.

Vilkas- Hes the twin brother of Farkas and a member of the companions.
Frost Moon Pack Werewolves,. They are werewolves that have live in Solstheim. They are a werewolf pack you can get rings from if your a werewolf and have the Dragonborn dlc in Skyrim. They are interesting.

Faolchu- hes one of the big bads in the Dc Glenumbra Storyline. He is unique as he is can't be killed by anything but fire. So hes the Achiiles of Elder Scrolls and fire is his Acillies Heel.

Balorgh- Hes a Werewolf Behemoth found in the one dungeon.

Hildegard- shes an interesting werewolf npc found in the Dark Brotherhood in Eso. She struggles to control her condition.

So who out of the werewolves I've listed is the best Werewolf to ever live?

Balorgh is the type of werewolf I wish we could be. Both visually and in terms of the abilities he used.

Really hard to say, TES(O) offers a lot to each character and gives unique backgrounds, insight and depth to each one. Although, I want to say Hilde, though she still young, and has issues controlling it, the background conversations shows shes growing more into accepting it and slowly no longer fearing herself when she turns. To the point on wanting to do a few contracts and "hunt" as a werewolf.

First ashamed of it, then shamed for it and now accepting her role and curse to be a stronger character. Yes, she is still shy and soft spoken, but now she showing signs and confidence to stand up for herself and others in her "family."

Plus she is adorable.
