See the set of other players

Hello everyone!

I was in Vivec City, and I remembered that in WOW you could inspect the sets of the players out of curiosity.
In ESO it can not be done by default I think, is there an addon or something to see them?

I liked to see the sets that people had!

Thanks greetings!

The only way is to use ESOLogs to log an encounter, and then look at the characters on there.

Just ask them if you are curious. Most people are happy to tell you.

There is no way to see players' sets. ZOS doesn't allow it because unfortunately toxic players would use it to be toxic.

People. We're why we can't have nice things.

    That being said, you can:
    A. Ask them politely
    B. Group with them while using ESO Logs on PC and look at the log later. They might be set to anonymous, but you'll be able to see the gear of your groupmates.

I usually find that most people are happy to tell me if I ask nicely. That's especially true for the styles they are wearing, since many players put a lot of effort into making their outfit look smashing!

Sets or outfits? Because if people could see the sets of others it would lead to kicking from dungeons before they even start.

I said it to see people's sets, each person has a different style of play and I like to see them and how they combine sets to play.

But it's sad that if you could see it, toxic players would use it :(

Sorry I am not willing to share my set with some random that uses Addons to spy on me. My sets are mine, and its no ones business unless I tell them what I am wearing.

I do not see that it is bad to ask questions in a forum ...

That's why people like this want that kind of access to other people's info.

    It is not like this.

In my case I like to see the sets that people wear, and I like the answers from EsoLogs, since I can see the sets that the team wore.

I do not care if I am playing with a player who has a set that is not the "optimal"

I left WoW in part because other players weaponized this option to be jerks to other players.
The toxicity of dungeon/raid groups in WoW is basically legendary, no need to emulate it here.

For PVP it is inappropriate feature. (you must determine what opponent uses from his actions)
For PVE pugs nobody cares what you are wearing if you do your job.
For organized PVE you just use what RL said to use.

So really no purpose for this feature other then for trolling.

This thing made me smile. But ye. People suck. Then again, u can usually guess their sets if u have been playing long enough and see effects...

In your case it isn't like this.

In many other cases, it would be. According to the chat I've seen in game, and the posts on the forums, some players will either not group with, or immediately kick anyone under a certain cp point level. If this type of player could see gear, it would give them even more "reasons" to kick someone. Totally not worth it.

There are two main reasons why seeing other player gear shouldn't be allowed.

    1) It creates additional level of toxicity in PVE content - imagine trying to get into a trial to get trial gear only to be denied entry because you don't already have that gear because players inspected you and see you are running other gear. Seen this in other games.

    2) PVP - players who run unique sets because of their trial and error in PVP would hate for others to inspect them and see what they are running - many PVPers don't share their builds because PVP is vastly different than PVE setups.

As someone that only plays PVE I'm against it. I see no point in allowing this as it will add more negativity to this game between players and that is not what is needed in a cooperative game for PVE. We need more things getting us as players to work together, not against each other.

I pug dungeons a lot. Let's just say, that people are not always cooperative to "work" together. They are either "cool", and inspect gear wouldn't have changed that, or "uncool", then they exit dungeon on first wipe, just be toxic in chat, or stay quiet all run even though they will wipe you cause they don't know mechanics.
But ye, I am derailing the topic.
