Free skill respec with Greymoor?

I just spent a little over 6k gold to respec & remove all the vampire skills I had on my necro orc tank before getting the vampire cure but I still have 9 other characters that will also need the cure & on some of those respeccing costs over 9k gold.

So I was just wondering will there an initial free respec period as has occurred in the past or not?

I'm reasonably sure that skill points in vampirism are being refunded, but just vampirism. If you were planning on using the opportunity to make other changes, you'll have to pay for it.

I can't fathom anyone except a completely new player being put into a bind over 6-10k for respeccing...even on a full roster.

This game throws so much gold at you...

When you cure lycanthropy you get all the skill points back. No need to pay gold to respec. If it doesn’t work that way for vamps, I’d report it as a bug.

So I could just get the cure & get the points back? There's a thread on the cure & it says in there to make sure to respec first as people haven't & have lost those points.

Okay you got me ;) , it's not that I really can't afford it (though I never said I couldn't) as I have 12 million gold on my main (after having spent 7 million gold on crowns several times & a few million on motifs - just need militant ordinator now) but I just wanted to know.

At this point, it would probably be best to wait until release to see what actually happens. It's only another week (okay, 8 days.... assuming things go as planned).

Check the date carefully on any threads about curing and skill points being refunded. There have been design flaws/bugs in the past where curing either ww or vampirism failed to return invested points. As of two weeks ago on live, I can say for sure that my skill points in ww were automatically refunded upon curing that toon. Vamp shouldn’t work any differently.

In this case, as others have said, while Greymoor won’t have free/cheap respecs across the board at the shrines as far as we know, the major rework of the vampire line led them to refund those points (but not cure you) automatically upon the launch of Update 26.

It's not a major combat update, @daemondamian ... which is usually the requirement to push out a free respec for everyone. So, prepare for that ... and then be pleasantly surprised if ZOS decides to do it.

As mentioned above, though, skill points in the vampire line will be refunded due to the change in skills.
